I scouted a Centennial League match-up between the Manhattan Indians and the Emporia Spartans.

The Indians went on the road and knocked off the Spartans, 25-21, 25-21.

Here is a look at four athletes who posted solid numbers for Manhattan. With the win, the Indians' record improved to 9-4 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='807871' first='Bailey' last='Busch'], 5'7”, OH, Manhattan, '27

Busch continues to impress me with her skills. I saw her earlier in the year in a match where she finished with 19 kills. On Thursday evening, she recorded a match-high 16 kills. She is ranked No. 39 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She also finished the match with 18 serve receptions, seven digs, and one ace.

[player_tooltip player_id='800407' first='Janie' last='Hilgers'], 5'6”, DS/L, Manhattan, '26

She is ranked No. 278 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She is a top-notch libero who had her second quality match that I have scouted. She finished with 10 digs and 10 serve receptions in the win over Emporia. She communicates well with her teammates, makes consistent first passes, and will lay out to make the tough dig. She is being recruited by Division II programs Washburn and Fort Hays State.

[player_tooltip player_id='885609' first='Keeli' last='Tepe'], 5'8”, S, Manhattan, '27

This was also the second time that I have seen Tepe play. She recorded 27 assists against Emporia. She recorded 30 assists in a match against Shawnee Heights earlier this season. She also tallied four digs and did a great job of staying out of the net on a bad pass or a short dig.

Sophia Peabody, 5'10”, OH/MB, Manhattan, '27

Peabody caught my eye during this match. She played a much more significant role in the match against Emporia, than she did in the first Manhattan match I scouted earlier this month. She registered three kills, three blocks, one dig, and one serve reception. She has a nice reach and jumps well. She could improve her recruitment stock by improving her upper body strength.
