Standouts from JV Volleyballooza Tournament – Plainfield Central

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Had a chance to witness some good volleyball from the JV Volleyballooza Tourney at Plainfield Central High School. There was some great competition and some standout players. Lincoln Way East finished in 1st Place, Libertyville 2nd Place, and Yorkville finished 3rd. It was fun watching the teams and players go all out. She has great size and towers over most of the frontlines on the court. She displayed some powerful hitting at the net and controlled the game with some blocking as well. When she got good sets from her team, she was able to throw them down with thunderous hits or throws. Saw her explode for some great kills at the net with hits, swipes, and pushes. Quick jumper when you feed her quicks and has nice timing. I saw her get a lot of blocks &amp; touches at the net as well. Had a great serve that was hard to return. She also hit on the right side, has a nice vertical, and a good, hard hit from that RS. She is also a setter and has great touch with sets. I saw her hustling on defense as well, diving for tips or deflected balls. I loved her energy. You can tell she has a competitive drive about her, and I love to see that! She made some great swings from the OH spot, and she played all around, displaying good serveand receive as well. I saw her take some great swings for kills from the RS hitter position. I believe her natural position is setter, where she shows all the sets, soft hands, quick hit sets, and back-sets. I love her serve as well, she is able to go cross-court to zone 1 with a powerful serve. She got quite a few aces with that serve.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's always fun to see these high school tournaments. Most of these girls play club 8-9 months out of the year, and when they get to their high school teams, you can see the skills that they possess. I'm noticing a lot of girls are displaying multiple talents and not just one-dimensional players. There was a lot of talent at this tournament. Congrats again to the Lincoln Way East girls for winning 1st Place in Gold. They should be proud as the competition was high.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
