Is it La Vernia's turn to get over the hump and take the title? The answer lies in the strong arms of three seniors who have helped the Bears to a 38-9 overalll record and an undefeated district record. [player_tooltip player_id='318131' first='Paisley' last='Pavliska'] has been a “go to” player since she burst onto the scene as a freshman phenom. We have followed her sensational volleyball career since then and will be sad to see her go, but I am sure that she will have a phenomenal college career at the university of Arkansas next season. In the meantime, she is still as competitive as ever and has the will to get her team ready for a deep playoff run. [player_tooltip player_id='271366' first='Avery' last='Keck'] has also been almost unstoppable this year as she has tallied 453 kills on a very impressive .310 hitting percentage. [player_tooltip player_id='319105' first='Layla' last='Haddock'] is another reason this team is so lethal. She has added 270 kills to take the pressure off of the others. This team will need all the help it can get to finish this season on top. They will get it from a few super sophomores in Emily Kosub, Addison Lundin, and Adyson Dye who have been adding a lot of firepower to this solid squad's offense. We already know what [player_tooltip player_id='515938' first='Karis' last='Carpenter'] can do in the back row. She has such a great nose for the ball and doesn't let anything hit the floor near her zone. This senior digging machine will be ready for every battle as she has proven all year long. Junior setters Madelyn Nagelmueller and Jasi Hodgin have been very sure handed as they run the offense. We will be watching them very closely throughout the playoffs and you should also.

Salado has been battle tested in their regular season and you can see it from their 31-13 overall record. They have gone against some big teams to push them to their limits. When it came to district play, no one stood a chance against this talented squad. They went undefeated with a 12-0 district record. Senior captains [player_tooltip player_id='542735' first='Haley' last='Brown'] and [player_tooltip player_id='508127' first='Elsie' last='Law'] have will definitely have this squad ready for a deep run. Elsie is committed to play college volleyball at the University of Arkansas and has really stepped up her game over the past year. She benefitted from playing at the Open level to get her speed up in the middle position. Superstar setter [player_tooltip player_id='739802' first='Charli' last='Niu'] is very well known by anyone who is anyone in the volleyball world. We have her ranked extremely high in the sophomore grad class for a reason. She is a legit threat to beat your team in every single aspect of the game as she is elite at them all. [player_tooltip player_id='542735' first='Haley' last='Brown'] is a five foot ten six rotation outside who can hit around the block with the best of them. Blockers have a really hard time stopping her due to her great court vision and her ability to turn on the ball in mid-air to thread the needle around the block to score. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='767301' first='Presley' last='Ortega'] is a standout athlete who also runs track for the Eagles. Freshman middle Naomi Niu is an up and comer that everyone needs to watch out for. She is truly showing that she can be a difference maker in this team's success. This squad is special and will be a tough out for anyone who is matched up with them. Watch out for some fireworks.
