Rural gems converge on Lincoln to compete for the state's biggest prize, and breakout performances are inevitable. That means more new names for our recruiting radar.

Part 1 already addressed some emerging stars from this year's postseason, but we can go deeper. Let's run it back.

Oakland-Craig brought some all-state arms on the outside, but we can't forget about the balanced effort on the right. Kopietz was a reliable contributor to Oakland-Craig's win over GACC, putting down four kills and 12 digs for the Knights. Opposites are normally not a pivotal part of a team's floor defense, but Kopietz readily broke the mold for her squad. Expect more of the same as she elevates to the senior class.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's defensive identity has made the Eagles a mainstay at state tournaments throughout the 2020s. Hoins leads the new wave of backcourt talent and posted a team-high 13 digs against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Of course, she also brought the laser-accurate passing that a box score can't depict. Such influence is rare for an underclassman.

Mullen has a lot to build upon after this year's historic state tournament appearance. McCully's sky-high potential is a clear reason for optimism, and she took another step forward during her team's stay in Lincoln. She registered six kills from the middle and set the tone with her blocking effort along the net. Now that Mullen has broken the postseason barrier, look for McCully and her teammates to reach even higher next fall.

Long was a past participant on the Prep Dig Circuit, but she has reached a completely new level after Yutan's Cinderella run in Class C2. The second-year setter ran a crisp offense from the back row and had a team-high 26 assists during Yutan's quarterfinal upset over JCC. Long gets her feet to the ball quickly to deliver accurate, consistent sets to her pins. Such a multi-talented effort has put Long and the Chieftains on an upward trajectory for 2026.

The Ridder pipeline continues to produce for Guardian Angels Central Catholic. This sophomore Ridder iteration put up a 0.246 hitting clip this year and had 17 errorless swings in the quarterfinal clash with Oakland-Craig. Ridder is a "setter's best friend" with her large hitting window and ability to adjust to any tempo or location. Even as the Bluejays lose a few key seniors from this year's team, players like Ridder are eager to fill the void.

Tuttle was ready for the spotlight this fall. In 2024, she anchored half of Exeter-Milligan/Friend's two-setter offense and helped the Bobcats reach the state title match. Her sophomore season brought along new responsibilities, with Tuttle leading a one-setter system herself. This big step did not deter EMF's poised underclassman. Tuttle dished out 9.4 assists per set and was a spry defender in the right-back area. The Bobcats have their signal-caller of the future.

Here's one for the 2029s. Norfolk Catholic featured an elite cast of ball control gems this fall, and Barr broke into that lineup as a first-year prep player. The Knights experimented with several different lineups in 2025 after Barr demonstrated her impact potential at the setter spot. This star freshman consistently came in off the bench and provided smooth, precise sets in three-hitter rotations. She was also an aggressive server who logged several scoring runs in the quarterfinal match against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. This season was just the beginning of Barr's ascent with one of Nebraska's small-town powerhouses.
