Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
It’s hard to overstate the value of libero excellence during Papio South’s multi-year reign in Class A. 2025 is the final act for Dyrstad, who will join older sister Kenzie at Rutgers next fall. The Dyrstad name has clearly left its imprint on the Titan backcourt, and Kami has been at her best with 5.3 digs per set as a senior. Of course, that doesn’t take into account Dyrstad’s unflappable serve receive to keep Papio South’s offense flowing. Expect more of the same in Lincoln.

We might as well pay a visit to one of Class A’s other vaunted powerhouses. Papillion-La Vista South is on a mission after coming up short in 2023’s quarterfinal round. Dyrstad has remained on a torrid pace in the Titan backcourt and is close to exceeding five digs per set for the season. This also puts the Rutgers commit within range of 1,000 digs for her career, and she still has another year left at Papio South. Before that, though, Dyrstad has unfinished business in the postseason.

Dyrstad’s reign over the back row continues. The Rutgers commit was all over the floor for Papio South and made some of the most eye-popping digs of the Allison Weston Invite. Of course, Dyrstad’s value is also measured by her ability to make serve-receive look ordinary and routine. She’s the kind of athlete who knows how to make business-like plays while also injecting energy into her team whenever needed. Papio South’s rich history of game-changing liberos is bound to persist through next year.

Dyrstad remains the at the top of the order among Nebraska’s 2026 liberos. Her command over the Premier 16 Gold backcourt never wavers, and we’d expect that same consistency when the team hits the qualifier trail. Dyrstad has also logged multiple seasons as the starting libero for Papillion-La Vista South, a school with an extraordinary history of high-level success. The best is yet to come for Dyrstad as she follows a family tradition of lockdown defense.

Get used to hearing this name–as if you weren’t already. We’ve gone from one Dyrstad to another at Papio South’s libero position, and Kami has a couple more years to showcase her skills at one of Nebraska’s top prep programs. A strong club outing with Premier Nebraska this spring set the stage for Dyrstad to seize Papio South’s libero jersey as a sophomore. She promptly delivered with a stellar year featuring about 400 digs.

The two-time defending Class A champs are rallying around a sophomore libero in their vaunted backcourt. Dyrstad will not be intimidated by the spotlight, as she was an integral part of last year’s title run as a freshman. So far, this savvy defender has tallied nearly four digs per set and is looking for more in the coming weeks.

Here’s another 15 Gold athlete who’s clearly poised for a big sophomore campaign. Dyrstad capped off the club season with several more fabulous defensive displays at USAV Nationals. And, as we’ve seen throughout 2023, Dyrstad’s intensity and competitive spirit offer a boost to any team she’s on.
