Shockwave 14-1

Mayhem 14-1

Here is a look at five members of the Kansas Class of 2030, who will be included in the rankings later in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='913256' first='Kate' last='Bruna'], 5'5”, OH/DS, Hanover, '30 (Manhattan Mayhem 14-1)

Bruna is the quiet assassin on the Mayhem roster. She could easily get overlooked on the squad, but she is definitely the glue that holds this squad together. She played solid defensively. She finished with two kills and three digs. She has a great pedigree, as she played with her cousin, and could very well play next to her sister and older cousin next season at Hanover.

[player_tooltip player_id='923735' first='Ainsley' last='Cocking'], 5'10”, MB, Eisenhower, '30 (Shockwave 14-1)

Cocking has a big reach and is strong enough to finish blocks. She has an accurate serve, which I liked. I don't feel like I saw her best performance, but the natural athleticism is there to build off of. I expected to see her dominate when he walked out on the court, so maybe expectations were a little high. She did finish with one block and one kill in the Shockwave's victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='923743' first='Brynlee' last='Gosch'], 5'9”, OH/S, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, '30, (Shockwave 14-1)

I liked Gosch's athletic skills. She has a quick swing and sets the ball well. I was not as dialed on her as some of the other athletes for whom I kept stats. She has the size that college coaches like to see from setters. It will be interesting to see how her high school utilizes her. She plans to attend Kapaun Mt. Carmel.

[player_tooltip player_id='923741' first='Mileigh' last='Spexarth'], 5'8”, MB, Andale, '30 (Shockwave 14-1)

Spexarth is a multi-sport athlete. She is a pitcher on the softball team and helped lead her club team to a national title last season, throwing from the circle. She is a physical front row player for Shockwave. She tallied three kills in her team's opening win of the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='913262' first='Kessly' last='Wilson'], 5'5”, S/RS, Manhattan, '30 (Manhattan Mayhem 14-1)

Wilson was one of three setters used by the Mayhem. By my count, she finished with four assists in the match against Alpha & Omega. I was impressed by her composure on the court and the way she finished off sets. She put the ball in a solid position for her hitters.
