The Prep Dig Exposure Tour made it to Houston this past weekend, with over 70 prospects from the 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes spending a couple of memorable hours with us at Competitive Edge Sports Complex, the home of popular club [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'], in Spring, on Sunday morning.

It was a great opportunity for us, Prep Dig scouts, to get to know up-and-coming players in the region while also tracking the progress of others we were already familiar with. We loved the incredible atmosphere and the level of effort and play that we got to see from everyone, and we will now use the week to give a shoutout to the ones who stood out the most.

Paxton plays high school volleyball for Katy and will be in action with [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors'] in the club season, playing up with their 17 Premier team. She had some of the best setting hands in the entire event, making impressive plays during the drills. Paxton's accurate touch on the ball allowed her to remain precise with her locations even when working with passes off the net. She was excellent when setting against the flow as well, shooting the ball from one pin to the other with incredible accuracy. Paxton showed some nice creativity to catch opponents off guard with her setter dumps and spent some time swinging on the right, demonstrating solid vision.

Morris joined us from Killeen, north of Austin, where she represents Providence Prep at the high school level and works her craft with [program_tooltip program_id='851277' first='Rollers' last='Volleyball Club']. A lefty, she stood out among the setters for her accuracy and intelligent distribution. Her technique is really well-developed, and she uses her body strength very efficiently to push the ball to the pins. Morris was also among the most productive and well-rounded setters when it came to her back row game, which made a strong impression with her serving ability and her intelligent positioning, which allowed her to get many touches in the drills.

Palermo sets for high school powerhouse Friendswood and for the famed club [program_tooltip program_id='745880' first='Houston' last='Stellar'], which she recently joined. She's one of the players I was already familiar with coming into the event, and I was excited to see that she was able to take her game to another level when compared to the last time I got to watch her in action. Because her technique has always been very well-developed, I think most of the progress was a result of a more confident and relaxed attitude on the court, which just makes her game flow better. Palermo was very creative and dynamic with how she ran her offense, using all of her hitters and it was easy to see how she was connecting well with them, both on and off the court.

George is another setter I had been able to cover before - she sets for John Cooper at the high school level and recently switched clubs, going from Texas Legacy to MoCo Mavs. She has a good size and a strong technique, typically a recipe for success for players in the position. In the showcase, it was easy to notice that her playmaking is now steadier and more reliable, as she improved her decision-making in the distribution while remaining accurate with her locations. George also seemed better-equipped to make an impact on defense, remaining focused on the back row and demonstrating improved ball control.

Lawson is a high school standout with Santa Fe and plays club volleyball for [program_tooltip program_id='745880' first='Houston' last='Stellar'], setting for their 16 Elite team. We've been tracking her progress over the last few months, and her performance in the event showed that she continues to head in the right direction. Lawson was probably the tallest in our setter group on Sunday, and even though her height is definitely an important asset, it's certainly not the only thing she has to offer on the court. She has great setting hands and is very smart with how she accelerates the game when in system. Lawson also indicated she can become an elite defensive player, displaying the levels of ball control and determination it takes to get there. The setter also stood out for her calm attitude on the court, which kept her level of play extremely steady.
