MN Exposure Tour: The Great Wall – Middles Controlling the Net

<p>You can't teach height, but you can teach speed and discipline—and this group of Middles had it all. From 6'3" freshmen to dynamic closers, the Middle Blockers at the Exposure Tour proved they are ready to be the first line of defense.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dominant Upperclassmen (2027s)</h2>    <p>Lewison attacks with intention. She has a powerful presence and did an excellent job closing the block pin-to-pin, which caused significant issues for opposing hitters. Her ability to transition from a disciplined block to a powerful attack was poetry in motion.</p>     <p>At 6'1", Nemecek does exactly what you want a middle to do: she contacts the ball at a very high point. She has an extra-heavy arm, and with her ability to get on top of the ball, she makes it nearly impossible for defenders to dig her when she connects.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Watson showed off impressive arm speed, which is crucial when taking swings from the middle. She gets her arm up fast in transition and shows off her volleyball IQ and tactical intelligence to know when to change up her shots.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rising Stars (2028 & 2029)</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Huston is technically sound, consistently getting on top of the ball to drive it down into the court. She was consistently working the sidelines and angles when hitting, making her a very dangerous attacker.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Whisler utilizes impressive hang time to wait for the block to start dropping before taking a fast swing. Her patience in the air allows her to find seams that other hitters miss and gives her a tactical advantage.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Zwart may have been one of the most prolific attackers on the tour on Sunday. Her footwork is so fast that you can get mesmerized by watching it. We even caught her pounding some balls down inside the 10-foot line. Explosive doesn't even begin to describe the power she is packing.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Nelson is an incredibly springy athlete. While still refining her consistency (as many her age are doing), her raw potential is undeniable—when she connects, the ball is terminated instantly.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Standing at 6'3" as a 2029 grad, Zubich is a prospect to watch closely. She already possesses a "heavy hand", solid contact, and is hitting on top of the ball, traits that suggest she will have a very high ceiling as she develops.</p>
