This report and one more will wrap up this week's coverage of the Kansas Class of 2029.

Eight athletes who reached the 200 kill plateau as freshmen are featured.

This is not an all-inclusive list. Some teams do not post public stats. I also exclude athletes for whom I can't find heights, and the cutoff point was 200 total kills.

Each of these athletes now has a Prep Dig Profile. Athletes are encouraged to claim their free profiles and add Profile Pics, game highlights, and contact information. Athletes with complete profile information will get a slight edge early in the rankings process.

[player_tooltip player_id='719106' first='Delaney' last='Duerksen'], 5'6”, OH/DS, Goessel, '29

Duerksen is ranked No. 39 overall in the Kansas Class of 2029 rankings. She had an outstanding freshman season and finished among the state leaders in multiple statistical categories. The Goessel freshman finished with 412 kills in 92 sets to unofficially lead all Kansas freshmen.

[player_tooltip player_id='913297' first='Sophia' last='Hiltgen'], 5'10”, S/RS, Linn, ‘29

Linn's Hiltgen is a six-rotation small-school prospect who has been featured all over Prep Dig Kansas lately. Like Duerksen, she finished among the freshman leaders in many categories. She tallied 311 kills in 88 sets played this season. I reckon she will debut relatively high in the new 2029 rankings. I just watched Outlaw Josey Wales, for like the 100th time in my life, and wanted to use the word reckon. “Reckon So!”

[player_tooltip player_id='747422' first='Collyns' last='Livermore'], 6'0”, OH/S, Kapaun Mt. Careml, ‘29

You could add Livermore's name to any All-Kansas freshman team. Prep Dig Kansas currently has her ranked No. 1 overall in the Class of 2029. She lived up to those high standards this season for the Crusaders. She registered 298 kills in 92 sets played.

[player_tooltip player_id='888442' first='Sophie' last='Salmon'], 6'1”, MB/RS, Shawnee Mission Northwest, ‘29

Salmon swam upriver all season and left other athletes choking in her wake. She recorded 254 kills in 94 sets played for the Cougars. She is ranked No. 35 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='728439' first='Liz' last='Deeter'], 6'0”, MB, Jefferson West, ‘29

Deeter is ranked No. 2 overall in the Kansas Class of 2029. She had a stellar debut season for the Tigers, racking up 252 kills in 89 sets played.

[player_tooltip player_id='800312' first='Berkley' last='Meinig'], 5'5”, RS/DS, Paola, ‘29

Paola might be a team I have to track down in 2026. The Panthers have a young prospect who, on paper, is intriguing. Meinig is not very tall, but registered 230 kills last season. She is currently unranked.

[player_tooltip player_id='895283' first='Turner' last='Rentschler'], 5'10”, OH/MB, Smith Center, ‘29

Out in Northwest Kansas Rentschler had a breakout season for Smith Center. The tall prospect recorded 228 kills in 93 sets. It will be interesting to see how she evolves. Based on her stats, it appears she played front row only for the Redmen. She is ranked No. 37 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='881259' first='Avery' last='Weibel'], 5'11”, MB, Goodland, ‘29

I had the chance to scout Goodland's Weibel during preseason practice. She impressed me back in August and then went on to post solid numbers for Goodland as a freshman. She registered 224 kills in 84 sets played. She is ranked No. 38 overall in the Kansas Class of 2029 rankings.
