2026 Club Team Preview: Iowa United 15-1 Elite

The goal is highlighting as many teams as possible before we get the season underway next month. Then we'll shift to scouting reports and roundups from real matches.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The preseason process works best when directors get us rosters or point us to where they're posted on line. With the support of LOVB, the rookies enjoyed a nice run in Year 1.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That certainly was the case with 14-1 Elite, the most successful squad in the organization. It earned a bid to the USAV National Tournament in the Open Division at the Northern Lights Qualifier, skipping the Iowa Regional with it already in hand. United finished 31st out of 36 teams in the USAV Open Division, which is the best of the best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Most of that team will be back and make up the 15-1 Elite roster this season. They're coming off impressive freshman campaigns on the prep level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tipton's [player_tooltip player_id='754551' first='Zane' last='Ehler'] earned Class 3A all-district laurels, one of only nine ninth-graders in Iowa to accomplish the feat. She finished her first high school season with 586 assists, 143 Kills (.290), 284 digs and 29.0 blocks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='754657' first='Cyan' last='Blommer'] shined for Iowa City West, which reached the Class 5A state tournament for the first time since 2016. The freshman led the Trojans with 287 kills (.217) and was second in digs (320). She added 17.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blommer's Iowa City West teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='697463' first='Audrey' last='Small'], is back in the middle for United 15-1 Elite. The sophomore contributed 128 kills (.316) and 40.0 blocks to the Trojan cause.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='754537' first='Amelia' last='Guinn'] helped Solon reach a regional final with a fine freshman year. She ranked second among Spartans with 237 kills (.220), adding 30.0 blocks and 67 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Solon's [player_tooltip player_id='893053' first='Makinley' last='Galvan'] and [player_tooltip player_id='779198' first='Emersyn' last='Bucheit'] also come back to United after last year's run with 14-1 Elite. Galvan, a freshman, contributed 108 kills (.206) and 34.0 blocks for the varsity. Bucheit, a 10th-grade, developed on the Spartan sophomore squad.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Adding plenty of punch to the middle will be North Cedar's [player_tooltip player_id='750513' first='Caylee' last='Jensen']. The freshman paced the Knights with 234 kills (.371). She tied for the team lead with 56.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Avery Stewart returns to the back row for United. The Rock Island freshman registered 3.8 digs per set in 57 sets played during the 2025 season. She added 41 assists. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prairie's Anndee (AJ) Magers joins United from Six Pack. She spent the recent prep campaign developing on the Prairie sophomore team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sherrard (IL) High setter Jaeci Leffel comes over to United from Iowa Select Mizuno. As a sophomore this season, she dished out 5.3 assists per set. She also averaged 1.7 digs and 0.7 kills in her 59 sets. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
