Few players in Iowa’s 2029 Class have improved as much as Galvan during the last year. You can tell she’s worked hard at sharpening all parts of her game, and it showed when scouting her at the USAV Iowa Regional Tournament during late March in West Des Moines. On a United 15-1 Elite team with high-level prospects at outside hitter and in the middle of the net, Galvan solidifies the front row with her consistent production at the opposite pin. The Solon freshman makes the most of her opportunities on the attack, utilizing long arms and leaping ability to generate power in the swing. She flows well with the play, helping her get positioned to throw up a productive block. Galvan has room to become physically stronger as she matures, adding to her potential to keep getting better. She’ll look to build on a ninth-grade campaign that saw her contribute 108 kills (.206) and 34.0 blocks. If you’re looking for a breakout player for this upcoming prep season, Galvan would be an excellent choice.
