Club Season Setters to Watch List: Class of 2027

The Class of 2027 is quickly making its mark on Arizona volleyball, and the future of the position is in very good hands. In this feature, we spotlight Arizona's Top 10 Setters from the Class of 2027—a group of athletes who already demonstrate advanced court awareness, poise, and the ability to elevate everyone around them during their school seasons. From precise location and tempo to strong leadership and competitive fire, these setters consistently control the flow of the match and prove they're more than ready to run an offense for their club teams. We cant wait to see what they'll accomplish!   Here are the top setters we look forward to watching this club season:    [player_tooltip player_id='520375' first='Fara' last='Bronson'] capped off an outstanding season at Casteel by guiding her offense to numerous victories, highlighted by a deep run to theFinal Four of the 6A state playoffs. Her ability to command the court with precision, poise, and elite decision-making consistently set her apart from the competition. Whether she was executing in system or adjusting on the fly, Fara showed a rare feel for tempo and hitter tendencies—qualities that solidify her standing as the top setter in her class. She finished the season with an eye-opening 1,061 assists, a testament not only to her consistency but also to her ability to elevate every attacker around her.   As she transitions into another club season with Storm 17 Thunder, the expectations remain high. Surrounded by a roster of powerful, dynamic hitters, Fara will once again be the engine that drives the offense. With her leadership, volleyball IQ, and relentless competitive edge, we fully expect her to be a difference-maker as Storm pushes toward a national title—and one of the most exciting setters to watch this season.     Adelyn had an exceptional season at Corona, serving as one of the catalysts that propelled her team all the way to a 6A State Finals appearance. Finishing the season just shy of 1,000 assists while also recording 219 digs, Adelyn proved she is not only an elite distributor but a complete, well-rounded setter who impacts the game on both sides of the ball. Her willingness to defend, compete through long rallies, and lead vocally made her invaluable to her team's success.   As a member of the 17 Thunder squad, Adelyn will only continue to elevate her game while strengthening an already dangerous offense. Surrounded by high-level talent and pushed in a competitive training environment, she is developing into a true driving force at the position. With her senior year approaching, Adelyn will continue to show why she's a top setter in the state this club season.     Kail was an offensive engine for Perry throughout the season, consistently setting the tone with her tactful approach and steady, commanding presence on the court. She showed a high level of trust from her teammates, often taking control in critical moments and delivering under pressure when it mattered most. Her ability to manage the offense, make smart decisions, and keep her hitters in rhythm played a pivotal role in Perry's success, ultimately guiding the program to a 6A State Tournament appearance and a 10th-place finish. Time and time again, Kail elevated her offense by putting her attackers in positions to succeed and bringing out the best in those around her.   Looking ahead, we're excited to see Kail take the next step with Aspire this upcoming season. Surrounded by a deep and talented roster, she'll have the opportunity to fully showcase her creativity, leadership, and competitive edge. With her ability to control tempo and thrive in high-pressure situations, Kail is poised to make a major impact and do big things as she continues to grow into one of the top offensive leaders in the gym.     [player_tooltip player_id='571231' first='MaKenna' last='Corrie'] has already built an impressive résumé during her high school career. She began her journey at Centennial before transferring to Liberty, where she is now closing out the final stretch of her career. After being sidelined for half the season due to transfer rules, Corrie is poised to emerge as a driving force for Liberty, bringing experience, maturity, and a competitive edge to the court. She shows a strong understanding of her hitters' strengths and tendencies, allowing her to run an efficient, balanced offense, and she makes a significant impact defensively—particularly with her ability to defend hard-driven balls down the line.   We're also excited to watch Corrie compete this club season with Revolution's 17 Premier, one of the top teams to keep an eye on in the 17s division. Surrounded by some of the best hitters in the state, she'll have every opportunity to showcase her court vision, leadership, and versatility. With her ability to elevate those around her and thrive in high-level environments, MaKenna is set to play a key role in her team's success this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='775765' first='Emerson' last='Ortiz'] played a pivotal role in Desert Vista's success this season, serving as the steady force that kept the offense running at a high level. She helped guide her team to a strong showing in the 6A state playoffs while posting an impressive 645 assists, consistently putting her hitters in position to succeed. Her impact extended well beyond setting, as she proved to be a reliable and clutch defender, finishing her junior season with 147 digs and showing a willingness to compete in every rally.   We're excited to watch Emerson continue her development with Storm on the 17 Thunder squad. A driven competitor with clean, consistent hands, she brings a calm, stabilizing presence to the court—especially in high-pressure moments. With her ability to manage tempo, lead confidently, and impact the game on both sides of the ball, Emerson is poised for a strong club season and continued growth at the position.     We loved watching [player_tooltip player_id='881806' first='Hailey' last='Johnston'] take command of Hamilton's offense this past season, where she consistently operated with confidence, composure, and control. Unfazed by adversity and unshaken in high-pressure moments, Hailey proved to be a true floor general, guiding her team through tough stretches and ultimately leading Hamilton to a Final Four appearance in the 6A state playoffs. Statistically, her impact was just as impressive—she finished 10th in 6A in assists, while also contributing 247 digs defensively and adding 43 aces from the service line, showcasing her ability to influence the match in every phase of the game.   As she transitions into a new club season with AZ Sky 17 Gold, we're excited to see how Hailey continues to elevate her game. Surrounded by a roster packed with talent, she'll have the opportunity to fully showcase her leadership, creativity, and competitive edge. With her steady presence, all-around skill set, and ability to rise in big moments, Hailey is poised to make an immediate and meaningful impact on this lineup as the season unfolds.     [player_tooltip player_id='845340' first='Cassidy' last='Armstrong'] put together an outstanding junior season at Millennium, finishing 5th overall in 6A in assists with an impressive 760 assists while playing a major role in her team's success. She stood out as one of the most aggressive offensive setters we saw this school season. Her confidence attacking the ball on tight or broken plays was especially impressive, as she routinely turned difficult situations into points. At the net, she was a legitimate threat, posting 29 blocks and showing strong timing and physicality, while her defensive effort was just as impactful with 370 digs. Cassidy's ability to contribute in every phase of the game made her a key factor in Millennium's deep postseason run and appearance in the 6A State Finals. She brought intensity, competitiveness, and a fearless mindset that elevated the level of play around her.   We're excited to watch Cassidy continue her development with AZ Sky 17 Gold this club season. Surrounded by an impressive and talented roster, she's poised for another strong year where her aggressive style, versatility, and competitive edge should shine. With her willingness to take risks and lead from the front, Cassidy is set to be a major piece of AZ Sky's success once again.     We were extremely impressed with the way [player_tooltip player_id='885092' first='Elizabeth' last='Hackleman'] established herself as a true six-rotation threat for Notre Dame this season, consistently impacting the match in multiple facets of the game. She finished the year with 118 kills, 42 blocks, and just under 200 digs. Whether contributing offensively, shutting down plays at the net, or extending rallies defensively, Elizabeth served as a steady anchor for the Saints and a player her team could rely on in every rotation. Her presence and leadership played a key role in helping Notre Dame secure a top-three finish in the 5A state playoffs and advance to the quarterfinals, where she continued to lead with confidence and composure.   We're excited to watch her continue her development this club season with EVJ 17 Elite. With her proven ability to step up when it matters most and perform at a high level under pressure, we expect Elizabeth to carry that same competitive edge into club play and remain a difference-maker throughout the season.     [player_tooltip player_id='888932' first='Makenna' last='Mooney'] delivered an impressive season for Williams Field, consistently standing out as a setter defined by relentless hustle, grit, and competitive drive. No matter the quality of the pass, she was committed to making a play and keeping her offense in rhythm. Despite standing at just 5'4", Makenna ran an efficient and confident 5–1 offense. She showed a strong understanding of how to manipulate opposing middle blockers, frequently creating one-on-one opportunities for her hitters when in system. She capped off her season by leading Williams Field to a 6A playoff appearance, finishing with 710 assists, which ranked her 7th overall in 6A, along with 232 digs—highlighting her impact on both sides of the ball. Her consistency, effort, and leadership made a significant difference for her team throughout the year.   We're excited to watch Makenna take on a new challenge this club season with Omni 17N1. With a fresh group of hitters to connect with, we're confident she'll continue to be an impressive playmaker.     [player_tooltip player_id='887201' first='Ansley' last='Venkatesh'] delivered a remarkable season, leading her team to a 3A State Championship through elite court awareness, unwavering confidence, and an all-out competitive mindset. She was the engine behind her team's success, consistently controlling the flow of the match and elevating plays and playing relentless defense. Ansley not only led her 3A conference in assists, but finished #1 in the entire state of Arizona with 1,142 assists on the season. Her impact extended well beyond just setting, as she added 244 digs on defense and nearly 60 aces from the service line, proving she could influence matches in every phase of the game.   As she takes a break from indoor club to focus on beach volleyball, we have no doubt Ansley will find the same level of success and continue to sharpen her all-around skill set. We look forward to seeing her return to the indoor court in the fall, where she'll once again take the reins of a highly successful program.     [player_tooltip player_id='881055' first='Emma' last='Elbert'] was a standout performer for the Pinnacle Pioneers this school season, consistently impacting the match as a true six-rotation threat. Her versatility set her apart—she was just as reliable delivering a clean, flawless second contact as she was attacking and terminating balls in the front row. Emma's ability to seamlessly shift between roles speaks to her high volleyball IQ and complete understanding of the game. Her production backed it up, as she finished the season with 176 kills, 530 assists, 232 digs, and 39 blocks, demonstrating her ability to contribute in every phase of play.   We're excited to watch Emma continue her rise this club season with Revolution 17 Premier. With her all-around skill set, competitiveness, and ability to influence the match on both sides of the ball, she's poised to be a dominating force and a key piece for one of the top teams in the division.     [player_tooltip player_id='889799' first='Lilli' last='Schmitt'] put together a strong and dependable season for Sunnyslope, finishing the year with 706 assists while serving as a key stabilizing presence for the Vikings' offense. She does an excellent job of keeping the offense balanced, spreading the ball effectively and making sure every attacker remains involved and engaged. She was especially valuable in out-of-system situations, where her defensive effort and poise helped keep plays alive and maintain offensive continuity. With just under 200 digs on the season. She led them into an appearance in the 6A finals where they put up an impressive fight.   As she heads into club season with AZ Sky 17 Blue, we're excited to see her continue to grow and take on new challenges.
