Freshman Ballers Coaches Should Be Tracking Right Now

This freshman group is already proving they are more than future prospects. They are contributing in real match situations, competing with confidence, and showing the athletic tools and game understanding that translate to higher levels. Their production, court awareness, and poise under pressure make them athletes college coaches should begin tracking early as their development is trending up quickly.    Savanna is a six-rotation outside with a very fast, heavy swing. She scores by busting through the block, tooling hands, and hitting high hands for easy kills. Her deep cross shots are tough to defend, and she does a solid job defensively in middle back. She makes the position look easy, especially on back sets whether she is on the net or off. She consistently puts the ball in great locations for her attackers and, even when passes are off target, finds a way to better the ball and still run an effective offense.   --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Abigail is a complete pin who brings value beyond just her attack. She handles serve receive, works hard at the net, and scores from either pin with confidence. She transitions quickly to make herself available, takes advantage of overpasses, and stays aggressive in her approach. Offensively she keeps defenses guessing by mixing up her shots, using line, cross, sharp angles, and deep corners to finish points.   --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Madelyn is a quick middle with a high reach and a fast, deep float serve. She is active on overpasses, back and ready to swing in transition, and puts real pressure on teams with her attack tempo. Her swings are strong enough to put teams out of system, and she plays with urgency and speed at the net.   --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Alana delivers clean, no-spin sets and brings great energy to the court. She consistently places the ball in great spots for her hitters and can push the ball out from anywhere on the floor. She is a trustworthy quarterback who runs the offense with confidence and control.   --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Chloe combines strong academics, holding a 4.0 GPA, with smart court awareness. She reads servers well, does a nice job in serve receive, and can set out of system. She keeps rallies alive and stays aggressive by swinging instead of just sending free balls. She gets full extension, attacks hard, and can bust through the block or find the deep corner.
