Kansas 2028 Rankings Preview: Where Will They Land?

(yes, that was <em>Rocky Horror Picture Show</em> reference) . . . to continue to preview the upcoming Prep Dig Kansas Rankings update for the Class of 2028.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a look at five ranked players in need of a shout-out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Athletes will want to return on Tuesday, January 6, to see where they ended up in the rankings. Rhodes will be moving up the rankings after a solid sophomore season. She recorded 181 kills in 73 sets played for Hesston. She can impact the match at the net as she also tallied 48 blocks last season for the Swathers. Lundy was a defensive whiz for the Panthers during her sophomore campaign. She finished with 488 digs and 650 serve receptions in 93 sets played for Colgan. Colgan will always have a special place in my heart, as I interviewed Chuck Smith, Wayne Chichon, and Mike Watt numerous times during my days as a young sports writer for the <em>Morning Sun</em>. Old biases, grudges, and rivalries run deep. The Trojans have an outstanding defensive athlete in Heinrich. She has quick feet and makes solid passes. She has attended Prep Dig Showcases in the past and impressed scouts at those events. I guess, I should grow up and get over my past feelings about SES since I have a nephew and niece in the school district now. He finished with 69 kills in 69 sets played last season for the Hayden Wildcats. On a team loaded with ranked prospects, Holthaus can get lost in the shuffle at times. She can jump and will benefit from playing a lot of ball during the club season. When I worked for the Kansas Human Rights Commission Paola was one of my favorite Kansas town's to visit so I could crush come German Cuisine at <em>Beethoven's</em>. It seemed that every tournament I went to his year that Paola was at I would end up missing them. Stanchfield was one of five Panthers to record over 100 kills from last year's squad. She registered 124 kills and 74 blocks last season. She is a tall, physical, middle that college coaches should watch closely.
