Middles in the 2027 Rankings Update

Foote has an incredible work ethic and can run a variety of routes as an attacker- defenses can't lock into her tendencies, and she helps open up the net for her pins. She is a verbal commit to Gonzaga and will play with NPJ Forefront this club season. We cover six other middles on our radar below; the class has excellent size at the middle position, with 30 players ranked listed at 6 feet or taller.    Seefurth had an excellent season for Juanita- hammering away and attacking at a .413 clip, a massive improvement over her hitting percentage as a sophomore. The junior middle has an impressive wingspan and an outstanding press as a blocker. She will play for Space Needle U17 Blitz during the club season, with Northern Lights (Minneapolis), Sunshine (Orlando), and the Pacific Northwest Qualifier all on the schedule.     The 6'2" middle from Columbia River is poised for a breakout season with Athena 17 Gold. She helped propel the Rapids on their run in the 2A state tournament, showing improved footwork and movement throughout. Athena may play her on the right side and in the middle, taking advantage of her excellent block.     Holland is a smooth athlete who has good lift on her approach and moves easily when she has to swing block or get off the net in transition. This school season, she was stronger and more explosive as an attacker, a trend that should continue during club with Sudden Impact 17 Heat. Her combination of length, versatility, and athleticism lands Holland at #31 overall in the 2027 Rankings update.     Shea had the chance to show off more than just her middle game for Mercer Island; she was tough from the service line and played hustling defense when she was in the back row. The junior works hard to close the block and plays with strong hands and a high IQ on jousts at the net. Shea is a quick jumper off the floor; she cleans up overpasses efficiently and does an excellent job finding open spots to score.       Pecht has elite length, and her increased strength and training show when she rises off one foot and crushes a slide attack. The Freeman junior is a verbal commit to Washington State and is one of the biggest movers in the rankings- breaking into the Top Ten at #8 overall. Pecht will patrol the middle with CPA 17 Benson, playing a high-level club schedule that includes Northern Lights, NIT Battle to Bartle (Kansas City), Red Rock Rave, PNQ, and the JVA World Challenge, among others.     Williams is a fun player to watch; she brings energy and plays with fire- revving up her team when she pounds down a kill. She is aggressive in transition, showing urgency to get off the net and make herself available to her setter. Williams also has touch and shots as an attacker- she can push a ball to the back corner or drop in an open-hand tip right over the top of a blocker. She is currently the 50th-ranked overall player in the 2027 Washington class.
