About Kate

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile front-row player who can contribute at both middle blocker and right side, giving lineups flexibility. As a high-IQ, strategic hitter, I score with power when needed but consistently find open seams with precision. Defensively, I’m a disciplined blocker with a 9’8” reach, applying constant pressure on opposing outside hitters with quick transitions and a team-first mindset.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a thoughtful, focused competitor who brings calm consistency to the court. While not the loudest presence, I’m highly observant and constantly reading opponents, tendencies, and match flow. I’m very coachable, trust the game plan, and pride myself on showing up in big moments when my team needs stability, execution, and composure.

Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards (2021 & 2022) National Charity League (2023 - present) DECA (2025 - present)

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. When I first entered high school, I found it challenging to balance the demands of a top club team (especially frequent, open-division travel and national tournaments) with my academic workload. Over time, I learned to adapt my study habits, manage my time more intentionally, and choose classes aligned with my schedule, allowing me to excel both athletically and academically.

Holland can play the middle and the right side- she is a long 6’1″ and has been well-trained playing at Sudden Impact. Her approach is smooth and repeatable coming off the right side; she adjusts well to sets and can hammer kills down the line or to the angle when the block is in place. Her smooth offensive game and size as a blocker will make an impact at the next level.

This school season, she was stronger and more explosive as an attacker, a trend that should continue during club with Sudden Impact 17 Heat.
