California Class of 2028 State Ranking New Additions Vol 1

We have added 20 new players in this update.  This series of articles is to introduce them to our readers and every college coach in the country.  We have been watching the 2028 class very closely throughout the entire club season and throughout the high school season.  A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone's recruiting profiles.  The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to the rankings due to their individual performances for this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["537526"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-698503b681d92"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Please officially welcome Miss Halvorsen to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 23^rd best overall prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She currently plays at Thousand Oaks High School and also for the [program_tooltip program_id='429511' first='San' last='Gabriel Elite'] volleyball club.  Saylor checks a lot of boxes the moment you see her step on the court, starting with her 6'2" frame and explosive athleticism on the pins. Her approach jump is eye-catching, as she gets up quickly and contacts the ball at a high point, allowing her to score cleanly against set blocks. What really separates Saylor from many hitters in her class is her ability to stay on the floor for all six rotations and contribute meaningfully in each one. She has developed into a reliable passer and defender, which gives her coaches flexibility and trust in late-set situations. Over time, she has grown into a true go-to option when matches tighten up, embracing the responsibility of taking big swings under pressure. Her offensive toolbox continues to expand, and she can score in a hurry when she finds rhythm. Everything about her game is trending in the right direction as a complete, high-level pin attacker. At 6'0" with elite explosiveness, she is a legitimate shutdown blocker and consistently takes away space at the net with her timing and reach. Being a member of the “10-foot club” shows up on film, as her high contact point makes it extremely difficult for defenders to get clean touches on her attacks. One of the most impressive aspects of her game is how comfortable she looks attacking out-of-system balls, which speaks to her spatial awareness and volleyball IQ. She understands when to elevate, how to adjust her approach, and where to place the ball even in chaotic situations. Offensively, she brings the same level of aggressiveness whether lined up on the left or the right, giving coaches lineup versatility and matchup advantages. Abby is the type of middle blocker who thrives when an offense is built to be aggressive and intentional through the center of the court. She has a strong physical base at 6'1" and combines that size with polished footwork and clean attacking mechanics. What stands out most is her comfort running a wide variety of routes, as she can score efficiently both in front of and behind the setter without slowing the tempo. She shows excellent body control in the air, especially when adjusting mid-jump to turn and attack around well-formed blocks. That ability to score without needing perfect sets makes her a valuable option in transition. Defensively, she closes well laterally and uses her length to seal seams rather than chasing blocks. We think she has the skill set college coaches look for in a middle who can influence matches beyond just raw size. Her continued growth will depend on how often teams choose to feature her, because she has the tools to be a true difference-maker according to our scouts.
