When athletes combine performance, self-awareness, and intentional storytelling, their online presence becomes more than a highlight reel. It becomes a window into how they think about the game.

This week's Social Media Stars of the Week did exactly that. These athletes used social media to reflect on their roles, share what they are proud of, and show college coaches how they approach the game beyond the stat sheet.

From setters commanding offenses to defenders taking pride in the details of serve receive, each of these athletes showed something coaches value: leadership, coachability, and a clear understanding of how they impact the court.

Here are five athletes whose voices and performances stood out this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='880888' first='Rossilyn' last='Buchanan']: Social Media Star of the Week

💡 Game You're Proud Of
Right now in my season, I am the most proud of having the ability and opportunity to lead my team, whether that's by encouraging them or setting them up with a set. I'm always trying to bring the best energy to the court whether we're winning or losing. Our season is not going how we have hoped, but I know I can work hard at practices and out of practice to get my team to our goals.

📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured on PrepDig gives me more motivation to work even harder and get myself out there even more. This boosts my confidence and encourages me to play and work my best. Visibility on social media has helped me in the recruiting journey by opening up a different view on how I portray myself outside of emails, prepdig.com, and other recruiting websites.

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
Something I want college coaches to know is that off the court I am a very energetic person who loves to laugh and have a good time wherever I am. On the court I become way more locked in, focused on the goal of winning and brainstorming how I can benefit not just me, but my teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='880888' first='Rossilyn' last='Buchanan']

~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

[player_tooltip player_id='750787' first='Avery' last='Dedekian']: Social Media Star of the Week

💡 Game You're Proud Of
Right now, I'm most proud of my ability to run a fast-paced offense while making smart decisions for my hitters. As a setter typically in a 5-1 system, I take pride in controlling my tempo, reversing the flow, and creating one-on-one or no-block opportunities for my hitters. I also value being an aggressive setter at the net. I enjoy scoring with setter dumps and taking control of the offense. My defense and serving also help me stand out as I am super aggressive in the back row and bring a lot of movement to my serve. I work to be consistent, competitive, and high-energy in every rotation. I bring intensity and leadership to the court, and I try to elevate my teammates' confidence and performance through communication and effort.

📲 Why This Post Mattered
I respect the knowledge of the recruiters so much and value any help that they can give to help me get noticed by colleges. I feel that the exposure from PrepDig has helped colleges notice me on social media. I appreciate them reposting my highlight reels and taking time to write articles about my gameplay.

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
Something I want college coaches to know about me on and off the court is that I'm very passionate and driven in everything I do. Outside of volleyball, I have a strong love for aviation and have always been fascinated by planes and jets. I'm excited for the opportunity to one day become a pilot and build a career doing something I truly love. That passion carries over into volleyball, where I bring energy, competitiveness, and a strong work ethic every day. Lastly, I enjoy 80s music and watching old films and movies. They're a big part of how I spend my time when I'm not in the gym or on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='750787' first='Avery' last='Dedekian']

~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

[player_tooltip player_id='772969' first='Ani' last='Billson']: Social Media Star of the Week

💡 Game You're Proud Of
Right now, I'm most proud of my passing. I've put a lot of work into my serve receive and defense so I can be consistent and give my setter good balls. I think what helps me stand out is the control I take of the ball, my court awareness, and communication with my teammates. I am proud of being a reliable passer and doing even the little things right so my team can run a strong offense without worrying about the passing.

📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured on PrepDig CA meant a lot to me because it showed that the hard work I've been putting in is being noticed. It was exciting to see my name being put out there so I can be recognized along with other competitive players. The visibility on social media has helped me share my game with more credibility to college coaches, which I know is really important in the recruiting process. My motivation for creating the post was to promote my recruiting journey and give college coaches a way to see my skills, progress, and work ethic. I want to take advantage of every opportunity to get my name out there and show what I can bring to a college program.

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
One thing I want college coaches to know about me is that I am very coachable and always willing to put in the extra work. On the court, I take pride in being a reliable passer and a good teammate that my team will trust in tough moments. Off the court, I stay focused on my academics and going to the gym. I try to be a positive, hardworking person in everything that I do. I am always looking for ways to improve and be the best teammate and player I can be.

[player_tooltip player_id='772969' first='Ani' last='Billson']

~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

Kaiana Seanoa Pemasa: Social Media Star of the Week

💡 Game You're Proud Of
This season my team is brand new. So with that, I'm focused on creating relationships with my teammates and building, knowing what tempo and rhythm to push. Being a setter means to me I need to command the court and lead my team. I'm proud of the work outside of practices I've been putting in, whether it be at CPA, JVPA, or Raki or with Coach Gus. I can feel so much more comfortable on the court with leading my team.

📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured on PrepDig is definitely something to be proud of. Social media can definitely be overwhelming, but PrepDig has given so many outlines and directions to make it so easy, from writing emails to coaches to how to create my highlight content. I love the volleyball community on social media and following all my talented friends chasing the dream as well!

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
I communicate, I compete, and I hold myself and my teammates accountable. My attitude is real. I'm a dog, and my passion for the game is only growing. I know I still have a lot of work to do, and that's what pushes me! I'm not afraid of hard coaching. I NEED THAT!! I want to be pushed. I compete hard, I hate losing, and I'm always looking for ways to get better even when no one's watching.

[player_tooltip player_id='697116' first='Kaiana' last='Pemasa']

~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

Aniston Stoll: Social Media Star of the Week

💡 Game You're Proud Of
I'm most proud of how far my leadership has grown in the last few years. I would consider myself a stable outlet to look at on the court for leadership, communication, and IQ. I think that those things help me stand out from most girls. Whether it's staying consistent during intense games or being someone people can look to for motivation, energy, and confidence. I also try my best to make it known to others that they are the only ones who can control their confidence. I've worked regularly on having confidence come from myself and myself only. I don't let others or circumstances determine how I hold myself on the court and being a consistent teammate and friend. I make sure every practice, game, workout, or even just film session I give my whole attention to what I am doing and leave whatever has happened that day or week at the door. That's what I'm most proud of in my game.

📲 Why This Post Mattered
One of the many things that being featured on PrepDig means to me is how much they've helped my social media impact and exposure. They help me feel seen with my social media, and this post encourages me to keep being active on social media to get more opportunities like this and put together helpful and informative film for coaches and schools.

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
What I want college coaches to know about me is my grit and passion for everything I do. I do my best to find the joy in everything I do and help others find joy in it too, not only on the court but also off. Even if you're doing something someone wouldn't consider “fun” or “easy,” there's always something you can find to make it more enjoyable for yourself and for everyone else around you. Another thing I'd want them to know is that I love doing things that improve myself and others. I think that you need to start by improving yourself and then you can focus on improving others through what you've learned.

Aniston Stoll

~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

If You Enjoyed This Article, Help Us Keep the Momentum Going

🔥 Players
Use this article to grow.
