About Kaiana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would say my style of play is consistent and smart! I’m constantly learning and growing in this sport, as long as I’m applying the knowledge my coaches have given me and always put in the work, i believe in my team to do the same!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Positive and driven mentality definitely! In all honesty, there are days when I don’t feel at %100 and that’s okay. Im definitely learning how to adjust and find ways to shake it off and hit the next play! I definitely have my shy moments but for the most part when I’m on the court I have a loud up beat personality!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve received multiple awards from my school, I also do community service by educating children on the Samoan Culture, and have been apart of Share A Meal.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the years of playing i’ve developed leadership skills, being a setter has taught me to speak up and lead the team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced injuries and personal set backs

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a a good educating college and a good college that has a good volleyball program.

💡 Game You’re Proud Of
This season my team is brand new. So with that, I’m focused on creating relationships with my teammates and building, knowing what tempo and rhythm to push. Being a setter means to me I need to command the court and lead my team. I’m proud of the work outside of practices I’ve been putting in, whether it be at CPA, JVPA, or Raki or with Coach Gus. I can feel so much more comfortable on the court with leading my team.

Being featured on PrepDig is definitely something to be proud of. Social media can definitely be overwhelming, but PrepDig has given so many outlines and directions to make it so easy, from writing emails to coaches to how to create my highlight content. I love the volleyball community on social media and following all my talented friends chasing the dream as well!

🧠 What Coaches Should Know
I communicate, I compete, and I hold myself and my teammates accountable. My attitude is real. I’m a dog, and my passion for the game is only growing. I know I still have a lot of work to do, and that’s what pushes me! I’m not afraid of hard coaching. I NEED THAT!! I want to be pushed. I compete hard, I hate losing, and I’m always looking for ways to get better even when no one’s watching.
