We're coming down to the wire here. Just in a few weeks teams will be duking it out in Orlando and Indianapolis looking to be crowned a national champion!

First, we have to go into the downtime of May. Every year there is one tournament to commence what I call the "regular season" of club volleyball before heading into June where we see the "post season" begin. There's no better place to be in the midwest to commence that regular season than Can Am Classic in Detroit!

While we have some time before any of these players in the 15 Open are up for grabs in the recruiting world, there are a ton of players that need note taking. This is a division that is going to be super entertaining to watch unfold throughout the weekend. Plenty of talent from across the state are taking center stage as well as promising pieces from the town below the border!

Take a look for yourself at some of the best to key in on in the 15s - and 14s too!

Hailey Hutcheison - TVC

Just across the state border, there is a setter that is showing off a ton of promise in 15 Open. Hailey Hutcheison has fallen on my radar last year during her 14s year and has been a fun prospect to watch develop through the early goings of her prep career. This is the kind of setter that is quick around the court, runs a well balanced offense and keeps the game clean. At the setter position for TVC, she acts as the engine that keeps this train going.

[player_tooltip player_id='858244' first='Cornelia' last='Friedrich'] - Michigan Elite

When you're looking around for uber athletic potential in the game, there's no other player you need to look for than [player_tooltip player_id='858244' first='Cornelia' last='Friedrich']. This is an opposite who is touching over 10 feet already and is nowhere near the potential she could reach. On the right side, Friedrich poses a massive block at the net. When she gets ahold of some of these balls, there's nowhere else to go but DOWN! Friedrich's offense is a work in progres, but has shown signs of insane ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id='885467' first='Adeline' last='Peterson'] - Legacy

It's quite a surprise to me to see a player of this caliber, this young, on a 2s team. But needless to say, this Legacy team runs through [player_tooltip player_id='885467' first='Adeline' last='Peterson'] on the left pin like no tomorrow. At 6'2, she has the natural attributes needed to have a big success rate. Peterson brings the complete game to the court. She's not only an effective (more like dominating) scorer, but she also provides a nice touch in her reception and defensive skills as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='741882' first='Georgia' last='Addleman'] - Legacy

This is a player that has really caught my eye throughout the goings of her freshman campaign in both high school and club. In the HS circuit, Georgie Addleman is the ultimate swiss army knife. At Parma Western, she's running the show as a setter and then cranking out points left and right. Whatever you needed from her, she had it covered. That's a lot to ask for as a rookie, but that goes to show how talented this player is. This club season has seen her in the opposite position, swinging full time. But don't be fooled, this is a player that I could easily see operating as a top level setter as well as attacker at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='977297' first='Layla' last='Ljacaj'] - Legacy

One of the biggest reasons we're seeing this 14s team playing in the open divisions at Can Am is because of [player_tooltip player_id='977297' first='Layla' last='Ljacaj'] in the middle. This has maybe been the loudest player coming up in the younger age groups and Ljacaj is worth every bit of that hype. From just about every aspect of her position, Ljacaj can deliver. She's an incredible point scorer and can do so in just about every way you can. The quick in front of the setter, run her behind or throw her up a high ball, it doesn't matter, Ljacaj finds the court.

From there, and maybe the most impressive part is, Ljacaj is a really strong blocker. For her age, this is criminally underrated skill and its something that this young middle finds herself having a lot of success with. Don't miss out on seeing this player against the higher competition this weekend in Detroit.

Cearra Soper - MVA

Another middle blocker in the 15 Opens that shouldn't be passed up on is Cearra Soper in the middle for MVA. I mentioned a player like Soper in the 16s age group, when MVA can find her in the middle, the success rate is off the charts for this team. At 6'2, Soper has a high reach that allows her to score with little slow down. Her offense is a huge piece to her game and her blocking has developed nicely throughout this season.
