Below are the middles and right sides making their rankings debut in the class of 2028. Once on the map put in the work and begin the climb up the rankings. It is also possible that in a couple years the below players will find a new position. They are all still early in their volleyball career.

She brings good height to the middle at 6'1". With [player_tooltip player_id='464573' first='Blake' last='Crawford'], [player_tooltip player_id='768375' first='Alexis' last='VerMeer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='536717' first='London' last='Jones'] seeing most of the sets from the pins Ava flies a bit under the radar. However, Ava carries the athleticism to hit the quicks in the middle. She also moves well from side to side to put up a good block.

[program_tooltip program_id='498495' first='Richmond' last='Volleyball Club'] clearly stands out as perhaps the top ranked club in the 16U category in the Old Dominion Region, but they don't play in enough local tournaments to achieve a higher ranking. In the DMV area, when you include the Chesapeake Region they probably fall just outside the top five clubs in the area.

At 6'2" she also brings good height to the middle. At the Volley by the James tournament her and setter [player_tooltip player_id='587035' first='Maggie' last='Race'] shared a pretty good connection. Joy was banging a number of quick tempo sets. She also strung together a couple key blocks.

As Joy improves her approach and quickness to the setter, her kills will generate a little more power to the floor. Currently, she relies more on her height for tips over the block. Lots of potential in her play.

She is the other half of the [program_tooltip program_id='498495' first='Richmond' last='Volleyball Club'] middles. At 5'11" she falls a couple inches short of Ava's height. Despite the smaller height she appears to have the ability to get higher over the net. Her redirects are explosive and directed toward the angles.

Mycah plays for Midlothian, which reached the semi-finals of the Class 5 Virginia state championships.
Last year Victoria played for the Libero Huskies that earned a spot in the Junior Nationals. She stands tall in the middle and puts the ball away. For some reason she never appeared in our rankings

Victoria has returned to Libero this year and continues to put the ball away. She also impressed with her ability to move from pin to pin to put up a potent block. She certainly brings some length to the middle.

In the finals of the VISAA Division 2 championship Fredericksburg Christian took the 38-0 Stonebridge to five games, losing the fifth set 15-13. Abigail finished second on the team in kills with 14. For the year it appears she hit mostly outside, leading her team in kills.

For [program_tooltip program_id='489547' first='540' last='Volleyball Academy'] it appears she covers the middle. At 5'10" her height might fit best as an outside. She brings the versatility to play both positions.

For [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] she is listed as a right side. At 5'9" her height may be a little under sized for that position. Her older sister played left side, so that could be a possibility in the future. For [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] she does not appear to get a lot of playing time.

For Glenelg, hitting on the right side she was fourth on the team in kills. Again, this was a result of playing in a little over half their games. Glenelg did win the Class 2 Maryland state championship, taking the fifth set 15-13 but Aran was not available for that game.

Next year should be a big year for her. Her sister graduates which could give Aran an opportunity to play left side. Playing left side for Paramount will be difficult although [player_tooltip player_id='554770' first='Rujuta' last='Singh'] stands only 5'8".

Kiera Benes at 5'9" is a bit undersized to play middle. She lists as middle for the [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] Alec team as well Jackson Reed. At the Tiger Paws tournament, despite being just a sophomore she took the responsibility of being floor captain on the court.

She may lack the size but she brings the quickness to mash the fast tempo sets. At a Maryland Juniors Open tournament she was clutch, getting some crucial kills and blocks that resulted in a [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] 26-24 win.

Azana lists as an outside/middle. At 5'9" her height would be a little under sized for a middle. I have yet to see her play but Michael DeLeon watched her at a Prep Dig showcase and called her an explosive player, earning her a top performer award.

While she is named on the roster for Long Reach there exist no stats for her. She does play for the Metro National 15 team. The previous year she played on the loaded Maryland Juniors 14 team.

At 6'1" Tenly has good size for the middle. She will need to show a little more quickness to get to the outsides to close up the blocks, as well as making her transition to hit. Currently, most of her kills are tips over the block as she takes advantage of her height.
