They are recognizing defensive positioning, adjusting their approach in real time, and using communication to influence both momentum and execution. What stands out is not just their skill, but how quickly they adapt within a rally or between points.   For college coaches, this is where evaluation sharpens. The Open division reveals who can think, adjust, and compete when the margin is smallest. These athletes are starting to show that.
