Iowa was well represented and represented well at the event.

Here's a closer look at standout setters from the event for whom I'd not yet written evaluations this club season:

I've watched Lampe compete in club, showcases and school ball during the last year. She's steadily made progress in developing her game, and was competing at a high level during two recent viewings on the club circuit with Six Pack 17U. Playing up, she helped guide the squad to a Liberty Division championship at the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. It earned the team a bid to this summer's USAV National Tournament in Indianapolis. Lampe delivered consistent play in putting the ball on the money to all positions along the net. She's a good athlete that flows well with the action and gets into position to make plays. It leads to good timing and decisions on where to attack the defense. Long arms and leaping ability help in throwing up an effective block. Lampe led Linn-Mar with 358 assists and added 114 digs as a sophomore this past season. She's a prospect on the rise.

Kruse is an unselfish player. Combine that with positional versatility, and have a kid capable of helping her team win matches by filling whatever role is needed. In the fall, Kruse swung away from the opposite pin in producing 63 kills, 18.0 blocks and 55 digs as a Western Dubuque junior. Success there was expected after seeing her attack various times during the last year. It was good to see she'd kept her setting skills sharp during the latest in-person scout at the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. Kruse ran the show smoothly for an Adrenaline 17U team that competed well in the American Division. She's technically sound at setter, finding her attackers with precise offerings and limiting mistakes. Kruse reads defenses well and directs the ball to take advantage of what she sees, including well-placed dumps into the donut or a swing to put the ball down herself.

Weiland impressed me a ton during an initial in-person scout last year at the Northern Lights National Qualifier. Unfortunately, I missed seeing her sophomore year at Southeast Polk this past season, when she led the Rams with 242 assists in 68 sets. Weiland ranked third in digs (174), and added 44 kills and 10.0 blocks. I would expect those numbers to rise significantly in 2026 after watching her compete with PowerPlex 16 Nelson at the ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. Weiland had gotten better at every aspect of the game since last seeing her in person a year ago. She takes advantage of athleticism and long arms to contribute across the board for her club squad. Weiland puts the ball on point to all parts of the net, making good choices and minimizing errors. With a strong right-side hitter, she's especially efficient at setting the opposite pin. Weiland can put the ball down with a swing or dump, and defends at the net and in the back row, holding up well in serve-receive, too.

White caught my attention when watching her compete at the Impact Invite earlier this club season. The freshman stood out again when watching her run the show for Ohana 15U National at the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. Going up against high-caliber opponents in the event's USA Division, White gave her team a chance at success with her consistent performance. White looks natural at the position, which is always a good sign. She takes charge and learns from opponent tendencies as the match goes on. It helps her see soft spots to attack on the defense. White puts the ball in places where her attackers can take advantage. Her long arms and athleticism lead to her putting the ball down when the opening presents itself. Ohana does a nice job developing players, and White is a player with potential.

I liked what I saw from Hayes' game when watching her compete at the Rockets Blast early this club season. She was a big reason why CR Surge U15 Jeff competed well at that event. It was good getting a chance to see her compete again during the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. Hayes guided her team to a 5-2 record in the American Division of one of the season's top tournaments. The Cedar Rapids Kennedy freshman is a well-rounded setter. She feeds her attackers in spots where they can make plays. Her feel for where each one likes the ball is keen. Hayes is athletic and fast, quickly adjusting to different pass locations in keeping the squad in system. She's a sound defender at the net and in the back row with the capability to hold up well in serve-receive. Hayes is a prospect to watch moving forward.
