Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Dig Scout
Kruse is an unselfish player. Combine that with positional versatility, and have a kid capable of helping her team win matches by filling whatever role is needed. In the fall, Kruse swung away from the opposite pin in producing 63 kills, 18.0 blocks and 55 digs as a Western Dubuque junior. Success there was expected after seeing her attack various times during the last year. It was good to see she’d kept her setting skills sharp during the latest in-person scout at the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier during the middle of April in Kansas City. Kruse ran the show smoothly for an Adrenaline 17U team that competed well in the American Division. She’s technically sound at setter, finding her attackers with precise offerings and limiting mistakes. Kruse reads defenses well and directs the ball to take advantage of what she sees, including well-placed dumps into the donut or a swing to put the ball down herself.
