2029 Outside Hitters to Know

Here we have probably the deepest position in the class of 2029. We have 11 girls who are ranked inside the top 30 (and probably another 2-3 depending on if it's school or club season). These 9 girls have shown all season that they are some of the best the class has to offer and not just by their position but by their overall play. These girls can take over games when called upon and have demonstrated at the state and NQ level how good they are. I would expect multiple of these girls to get some P4 look down the road! The best of the class when it comes to the 6 rotational outside hitter, we have Sahmone. She has been on our radar since day 1 and has done nothing but shown up week in and week out. She has the prototypical arm swing that coaches try to teach young athletes and she has such a violent arm swing that makes it easy to go through and around blocks. Her transition footwork is advanced, allowing her to get into rhythm quickly and stay available in nearly every rally. She can score from anywhere on the floor and is a top tier offensive weapon.   Besides her offense, she also can contribute in a number of other areas. For serve receive, she handles a large amount of court confidently and consistently delivers quality passes that allow the offense to stay balanced. Her platform control, footwork, and ability to read servers are advanced for her age, making her one of the more dependable passers in her class. She also can use that same technique. footwork, and platform control in her defense and ability to get great touches on other teams best hitters.   Few players in the 2029 class bring the same level of all-around production and consistency on the pin. With her athletic upside and polished skill set, she projects as a major prospect moving forward and someone you need to know in this class.     Izabella is another top tier 6 rotational outside hitter and she plays to a very elite level. She moves so effortlessly on the floor, whether she is in transition, defense, serve receive, or her footwork on offense. Offensively, she attacks with a fast arm, strong elevation, and the ability to score both cross-court and down the line. She does an excellent job adjusting to imperfect sets and still finding ways to terminate, which is rare for a player at her age.   She has developed into a true six-rotation player with the ability to stabilize an entire lineup from the back row. Her platform is extremely clean in serve receive, and she consistently delivers accurate passes even against aggressive serving teams. She stays calm under pressure, tracks the ball well, and shows advanced body control that allows her to keep plays in system. She can score on offense, but she can contribute heavily with her serve receive and defense in each match. Getting someone who can contribute in so many aspects of the game is hard to come by.   She has always been a go to option offensively while still carrying a heavy load in serve receive and defense. The long-term potential is obvious, and she continues to separate herself against strong competition and is someone you should know moving forward with this class.     Sloan is another top level pin hitter who can do a lot for her team in terms of her all around play. Offensively she does a good job mixing shots, attacking smart areas of the court, and staying available in transition. Rather than relying only on power, she wins points through timing, vision, and decision making. Her serve is another weapon, as she consistently applies pressure from the end line and forces opponents out of rhythm.   Her serve receive is also one of the strongest parts of her game, as she remains calm against tough servers and delivers clean, controlled passes with impressive consistency. She moves well laterally, stays balanced through contact, and shows advanced confidence handling a heavy passing workload. She just sees the game at a high level and moves to the ball early and keeps her team in system whether in serve receive, defense, or any chaotic situations that may arise. Sloan is as steady as they come in that regard.   Her ability to score in and out of system makes her one of the more dangerous young outside hitters to watch. Combined that with her court IQ and motor, she has the tools to become a standout at the national level. Put her on your radar as someone you need to see this upcoming year!     The casual fan might not know who Rylie is, as she plays club volleyball in California but she is someone who is going to make huge waves in AZ this fall when she is playing high school ball here. She is a force on offense, she can hit through a block, around a block, beat the defense with a off speed shot, she really has the full package. She really just shows how high her IQ is because she is able to take what the defense is giving her in that regard. She is a high volume scorer for her team that can carry the load when called upon.   In serve receive, she remains calm under pressure and delivers quality passes consistently, allowing her team to stay in rhythm offensively. Defensively, she covers a tremendous amount of court with quick reactions, strong instincts, and the ability to extend rallies with difficult digs that many players at her age do not make consistently. It is her ability to cover so much ground that really separates her in terms of her serve receive and defense. It really seems like she can touch all the balls that come near her and delver in system balls more times then not. A true 6 rotational player for her club team.   Coaches can trust her to handle a heavy passing load, compete defensively at a high level, and still contribute offensively when needed. Her court awareness, effort level, and leadership qualities stand out every time she steps on the floor, making her one of the more dependable and high-upside outside hitters in the 2029 class.     Kendyll is really coming into her own this season with her game play. She really has stood out playing up an age group this year. She is handling business at the 16's level this year and is really has improved her game playing with and against older girls. She shows advanced timing as an attacker and does a great job adjusting to different set tempos while keeping defenders off balance with smart shot selection. She seems to be able to score from a variety of situations which just speaks to her IQ and ability to take what a defense gives her.   Defensively, she stands out because of her instincts and relentless effort. She reads hitters well, reacts quickly off contact, and has the range to make plays both in the seam and outside her body. She does an excellent job keeping rallies alive and turning difficult defensive plays into transition opportunities for her team. Her team is never out of the play whenever she is passing the ball, her touches are on point and keep the team in system more times then not.   The consistency she shows as both an attacker and passer is rare for such a young athlete. She competes with confidence, plays with great energy, and continues to prove she belongs among the top players in her class. Make sure to have this name circled for a name to know in this class.     Colbie is another outside who can do a lot with her offensive game and is someone to watch based on how she plays her overall game. One thing about her is that she plays with a high motor, attacks with confidence from multiple zones, and consistently creates pressure on defenses with her heavy arm and ability to score in and out of system. Doesn't matter if the block is there or not either, as she can go tool the block if she needs to or hit the hard angles around a block as well. She brings a lot to the table in terms of her ability to score from all along the front line and with different shots.   Defensively, she plays with outstanding instincts and anticipation. She reads hitters early, takes smart angles to the ball, and has the quickness to extend rallies with difficult digs and second-effort plays. Her motor stands out every match, as she competes hard on every point and constantly puts herself in position to help her team. She is someone who is working extremely hard every point and plays with a lot of passion and energy which we love to see from players at this level.   Her offensive range and ability to perform under pressure stand out every time she steps on the court. With her continued development, she has the potential to become a high-impact player moving forward and should be a name to watch this fall for school ball.     Ellie is a dynamic offensive minded outside hitter in the 2029 class who consistently stands out with her ability to take over matches from the pin. She elevates well, creates strong angles, and shows the ability to score from both the front and back row. Whether attacking in system or out of system, she remains composed and finds ways to produce points at a high rate. She brings a lot to the table in terms of her offesnive game, she can be the number 1 option on a number of teams and her game is only getting better.   She brings a true six-rotation skill set and has the ability to impact matches without needing a high volume of swings. In serve receive, she is extremely steady and confident, showing strong platform angles and the ability to control difficult serves to target consistently. She takes pride in the back-row side of the game and embraces tough defensive assignments, which allows her team to stay composed in long rallies and high-pressure moments. She does a great job bringing value to the court whether she is the offensive force, or the all around player they need.   Her ability to terminate against quality competition while staying reliable in serve receive makes her incredibly valuable on the court. The skill, composure, and upside are all there for her to continue climbing as a 2029 in our eyes.     Taylor has a lot to offer in terms of her game play for any team she is on. She can play at a high level with her offense and with her defense as well. She might be one of the better defenders on this list, but can also contribute with her scoring as well. What stands out most is her versatility as she can terminate in transition, handle a large serve receive load, and still impact the match defensively with her range and court awareness.   As an attacker, she is efficient and controlled, making smart decisions with the ball and finding ways to score within the flow of the offense. She does not force swings unnecessarily and instead uses vision, timing, and placement to keep defenses off balance. Her serve receive and defense is top level as well, as almost all her touches cause her team to be in system and running the offense. She also plays with a lot of passion and energy and her teammates seem to feed off of it as well.   Her ability to contribute in every phase of the game makes her one of the more complete and dependable outside hitters in the 2029 class. She is someone who has been turning heads this club season and is a name to watch this fall as well!     Laela is a outside hitter who really can bring a lot to the team whether is be with her offense, defense, or energy she plays with. She is a great weapon on the outside, routinely being able to go through blocks, even when they are set. She can hit the hard angle shot, the deep line shot, and can tool high hands when needed. She is a high volume point scorer for her team and can do a lot in terms of her offensive game. She takes what the defense gives her, and does so at a high clip.   Another big asset for Laela is her defensive instincts are advanced for her age, as she reads attackers well and reacts quickly off contact. She covers a lot of ground, stays active throughout rallies, and consistently turns difficult balls into playable touches. One of her biggest strengths is her ability to keep plays alive and create transition opportunities through hustle and smart positioning. She has all the tools to be a top level 6 rotational outside hitter for both club and school and has been really doing well this club season!   She has emerged as a true six rotation outside hitter whose impact goes far beyond just scoring points.
