About Ellie
Expert Analysis
Anthony Jones | Prep Dig Scout
Ellie looked good on the pin on day 1, not only in the front row but with her all around game as well. She was a 6 rotational standout for parts of day 1 and someone who some could argue was the best player on the floor at times. On offense she showed a good offensive range, finding seams in the block and using tips, roll shots, and line attacks effectively when the hard shot was off. Ellie was ok taking what the defense gave her and showed her court IQ by being able to score however was needed.
She didn’t just score though, she added elements throughout the sets and matches that helped her team as well. When she served she would serve aggressively, and would pass well in serve receive. She was always on top of her game in the serve and serve receive department, helping one stay out of system and another in system. A great day 1 from Ellie, and shouldn’t be all that surprising to see her do that over the next few days as well.

Ellie is a dynamic offensive minded outside hitter in the 2029 class who consistently stands out with her ability to take over matches from the pin. She elevates well, creates strong angles, and shows the ability to score from both the front and back row. Whether attacking in system or out of system, she remains composed and finds ways to produce points at a high rate. She brings a lot to the table in terms of her offesnive game, she can be the number 1 option on a number of teams and her game is only getting better.
She brings a true six-rotation skill set and has the ability to impact matches without needing a high volume of swings. In serve receive, she is extremely steady and confident, showing strong platform angles and the ability to control difficult serves to target consistently. She takes pride in the back-row side of the game and embraces tough defensive assignments, which allows her team to stay composed in long rallies and high-pressure moments. She does a great job bringing value to the court whether she is the offensive force, or the all around player they need.
Her ability to terminate against quality competition while staying reliable in serve receive makes her incredibly valuable on the court. The skill, composure, and upside are all there for her to continue climbing as a 2029 in our eyes.
