We're highlighting fast starts in the Circle City, renowned for speed. What could be better?

Alright, we have our speedway reference out of the way. Quick starts in Indianapolis aren't limited to the race track, and we're all about finding the early stars on the volleyball court. That's especially true at USAV Nationals, where the country's top competitors converge for a final test of competitive mettle. I'm fortunate enough to cover Nebraska and Kansas during this stretch, so why not combine the two for an opening-wave feature?

We've stormed to the halfway point of 15s action at GJNC. That has brought us to the first cutoff for Gold contention, and representatives of the nation's heartland are still in the fight.

Keep tabs on the top Plains performers listed below. A few might find themselves on the grandest podium in club volleyball.

[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 15 Black

The Show Me champs are delivering on postseason expectations.

I'm just starting my forays into Kansas coverage, but even outsiders know that the Dynasty name bears weight at USAV Nationals. This year's 15 Black crew has been on a late-season charge and took another step toward the ultimate goal after Indy's opening-round results.

A 3-2 mark was good enough to secure a third-place finish in 15 Open's chaotic Pool 5. Dynasty can now look ahead to Round 2 matchups with Dallas Skyline and OTVA, giving this Saturday group some wide geographical representation.

We have plenty of Prep Dig Circuit memories to drum up with this Dynasty crew. Players like Logan Winkley, [player_tooltip player_id='917183' first='Addison' last='VanNess'], and Summer Fogel have perpetuated the excellence they displayed last winter at our Exposure Tour showcase. They're joined by an elite corps of six-rotation gems, led by [player_tooltip player_id='644733' first='Rosalee' last='Johnson'] and Tessa Redmond.

[program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] 15-1

This one's not a surprise, either.

As we've mentioned in previous features, [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] 15-1 didn't wait long to make an out-of-state impression this year. The team's January trip to Premier Nebraska captured my attention right away. It was hard to ignore the cast of high-flying hitters, spearheaded by [player_tooltip player_id='938175' first='Brylie' last='Milo'] and Piper Hudson on the pins. [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] has also unleashed [player_tooltip player_id='780519' first='Alaina' last='McGuire']'s full potential at the setter spot, leading to ironclad connections with Kylie Workizer and Trinity Mabion in the middle.

Milo

And the wins have rolled in, too. [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] roared to a 5-0 record with only one set loss through the first wave of contests. It's a perfect way to back up the squad's top seed in the pool, and second-round clashes with SC Rockstar and MKE Sting await.

The Heart of America plot thickens in 15 Open.

[program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last=''] 15 Elite

The 15 National division has brought the next cascade of Heart of America frontrunners.

Pool 2 of this group was a wild one, but PVA 15 Elite stood alone in first place after a 4-1 run. Three of these four victories came via sweeps, propelling 15 Elite one spot higher than its seeded position in the pool.

This has allowed us to catch up with some of PVA's top talent from the Class of 2029. Ball control lays the foundation for 15 Elite. [player_tooltip player_id='833284' first='Jocelyn' last='Floyd'] excels when playing around the dial at the setter spot, and she receives brilliant passes from [player_tooltip player_id='889822' first='Avery' last='Dessert'] and [player_tooltip player_id='747443' first='Ashley' last='Stilley'], among many others.

We're eager to see PVA back up its opening-round success in Round 2. SA Juniors and MAVA stand in the way of the final Gold push.

Premier Nebraska 15 Silver

Here's more of that high-end potential from Premier Nebraska 15 Silver.

We've discussed how much this year's Show Me Qualifier opened our eyes to the depth of 15s talent at Premier Nebraska. The club's 15 Silver unit earned a runner-up finish in Kansas City's 15 American race and eventually secured its GJNC berth through the Great Plains Region. So, a second-place pool finish in Indy's first round is just par for the course.

There's a lot to like with this lineup, no matter which lineup we see from match to match. Madison Wiese will always fortify 15 Silver's floor defense in the libero role. Sophie Zoucha and Avery Kleppinger have logged unstoppable stretches throughout Premier Nebraska's late-season surge, and the run has persisted at USAV Nationals.

https://twitter.com/KingsleyATK/status/2043781707908657585?s=20

Premier Nebraska 15 Red

Double trouble!

Premier Nebraska 15 Red joins its 15 Silver counterparts in the next round of 15 American. We were just talking about depth, and here it is.

15 Red spent its 2026 campaign battling through the 15 Liberty division, leaving this group well-prepared for GJNC's 15 American slate. The team cashed in with a second-place finish in its group after a 4-1 mark.

We see a lot of parallels between the strengths of 15 Silver and 15 Red. 15 Red rallies around Tenlei Cole and Grace Bogard in the backcourt, opening up a diverse offense with plenty of personnel for a 6-2. Allison Cramer, Mya Langan, and Grae Corver have been recent stock risers with tons of gain potential at club volleyball's biggest event.

It helps that the spotlight grows brighter in Round 2.

[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Black

Let's check on another Nebraska team making the most of its Great Plains Region bid.

VCNebraska 15 Black flashed its late-season form against regional foes, eventually earning a spot in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Our previews highlighted the absolute gauntlet awaiting teams in this opening round, with seven pool contests on the docket. 15 Black has already guaranteed a third-place finish in its pool before its final Saturday morning duel against Impact.

Several of 15 Black's standouts have been in our coverage spotlight lately. Tess Mahan and Eva Michel are a phenomenal pair in the back row, solidifying what is always a strength among VCNebraska contenders. We're also looking for quick arms like Addison Scofield and Baya Chamness to push VCN forward heading into Round 2.

That ascent continues Saturday.

South Central NE 15 Black

Of course, we have one more for the 15 Freedom count.

Success has come in divisional pairs for Great Plains Region teams, and South Central NE 15 Black keeps the good times rolling in 15 Freedom. This rural juggernaut is on the fast track to a spot in the next round with a 5-1 start, pending one more opening-wave match against Amarillo Xtreme.

We'll always jump at the chance to discuss 15 Black's emerging pack of prep stars. Kinlee Hinton and Reese Blauhorn have been invaluable scorers for South Central NE while also having the versatility to control the end line. Meanwhile, Atlie Wiedel and Ellie Graham link up to provide the first and second contacts needed to feed the hot hand.

We're highlighting fast starts in the Circle City, renowned for speed. What could be better?
