Dessert captured our attention after a strong spring with PVA 15 Elite, culminating in a summer trip to USAV Nationals. These big-time club events were a perfect venue for Dessert to showcase her multi-zone defensive work and sharp, driving serve. Lansing High has harnessed the same aptitude from its sophomore libero. Dessert is never satisfied with merely keeping balls alive. Early-season highlight film has shown her knack for placing digs right on her setter’s head, letting the Lions spread the wealth in the frontcourt. She’s been exceptionally productive with 4.5 digs per set, but Dessert does a lot more as a second-year starter.
