If you saw my all-17/18 Open team from last weekend's Midwest National Tune-Up, you read up on a long list of pin hitters who thrived in the Des Moines spotlight. Every squad in the division boasted elite terminators with takeover potential at the antenna. So, even after featuring a host of names for our all-tournament selections, we can dive even deeper into this cast of outsides.

Today's list will have a little of everything. We have game-changing attackers, six-rotation assets, and a wealth of new names for your recruiting radar. This variety is what makes Prep Dig Circuit events so compelling to cover, especially when teams converge in the heart of the Iowa Region.

Branson has been a cornerstone of South Central NE's rise to prominence in the Great Plains Region. She has been with this small-town crew throughout her prep journey, smashing barriers and propelling her team to multiple GJNC trips. The same can be said of her tenure at Shelton, which yielded the school's first-ever state championship. Branson offered yet another reminder of her all-around impact when she traveled with South Central NE 18 Black to our Des Moines event. Her quick arm and explosive approach will keep her team in the spotlight ahead of AAU Nationals. Then, the journey continues this fall at the College of Saint Mary.

Hobbs is perhaps the unsung hero of Ohana 17U National's frontcourt firing line. She brings a steady, consistent presence to the left side while also embracing pass-to-attack responsibilities in the front row. Ohana drew plenty of eyes through their floor-denting terminations, but Hobbs deserves credit for her willingness to make "unflashy" plays in scramble situations. The Dowling Catholic senior can find ways to score and knows when to be assertive. It's a hallmark of the Ohana operation.

If you're looking for a true six-rotation force from the 17/18 Open field, Jondle has to be on your radar. This Iowa PowerPlex 17U Mendoza outside hitter has dazzled us on the Prep Dig Circuit, and that's not merely a testament to her rocket arm. She also brings a wicked serve to the end line and can draw a jump spinner from her arsenal. Jondle's ball control contributions persist through her hustle and leadership in the middle-back area. Versatile stars like Jondle have brought out the best in Iowa PowerPlex's top teams, and this is a perfect example.

Now, we'll bring the PowerPlex 16s into the fray. We were due for some right-side representation in this feature, and Stanfel is the perfect torchbearer for this position group. Like many of 16U Nelson's pins, Stanfel is willing to swing on either side of the setter and adapt to several different lineups. However, this explosive athlete had some of her most highlight-worthy swings on the right side during the Midwest National Tune-Up. Stanfel readily exploits seams in the block and can turn down the line, too. Her range is not limited to positional flip-flopping.

Fearless's 18U roster treated us to several 2027s who won't be done on the prep stage after the summer. Anderson has unfinished business with Janesville High School after putting down over 200 kills and leading the team in swings last fall. That kind of attacking volume can be daunting, but Anderson is built to be a constant scoring threat in every rotation. She has elevated her influence through her pinpoint first contacts in the Fearless passing pattern, putting Anderson on an upward trajectory before her senior campaign.

Shaw brings the perfect blend of finesse and aggression to RVA 17U K.Palea's left-side hitter spot. She was eager to pass large segments of the court in Des Moines, even when she had to transition into a go-to hitter. Best of all, Shaw and her team grew increasingly confident while logging reps against an exceptional 17/18 Open cast. 17U K.Palea's unblemished Sunday run would not have been possible without Shaw's determination and constant drive to improve.
