Stanfel emerged as a prospect for us during the last year’s club season and with her showcase performances. She flashed that high upside again when I scouted Dowling at the Westside Invite in Cedar Rapids and again at the state tournament. As well as she performs now, one of the more exciting aspects of Stanfel as a prospect is that it feels like there’s a ways to go before reaching a considerable ceiling. Stanfel is powerful with a heavy swing. Long arms and leaping ability also aid in defending at the net. She’s effective at both pins, giving her the versatility college coaches covet. Stanfel still appears to be climbing the ladder when we watch her early-season club highlights.

Of course, we had to bring our Avoli Committed Athlete into the discussion. Stanfel’s vocal leadership was a big hit among showcase participants, but the Dowling Catholic sophomore brought the skills to back it up. We rarely see right-side hitters with such an eagerness to lock in for passing and defensive drills. Stanfel embraced the true spirit of the Prep Dig Circuit.

Stanfel caught my attention when I watched her play in person several times during the club campaign and again at a Prep Dig event during the summer. Stanfel has built on that strong foundation as a sophomore on the Dowling Catholic varsity in 2025. She ranked among the team leaders in kills and blocks, making the most of her opportunities in a crowded lineup filled with talented attackers. Stanfel combines height and long arms with excellent athleticism and developing volleyball skills. She can leap into the sky, hang in the air and swing with power. Continuing to refine her approach and reading the defense better is leading to more consistency. A similar progression is happening with her block. Stanfel has room to develop, which is exciting when considering her future.
