The countdown continues until the 16s and 17s take center stage in Indianapolis, chasing one of the most coveted prizes in club volleyball. With so much talent to cover in just a few days, we're combining age groups by division. We begin with the deepest field of them all: the Open Division.

16 Open

Five teams from the Heart of America and Gateway regions will take their shot at an Open championship beginning June 30. The field is loaded, and each squad has proven throughout qualifier season that it belongs among the nation's best.

[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 16 Black enters as the highest-seeded local team, landing atop Pool 7. The Kansas City [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] earned its Open bid early at Northern Lights and backed it up with top-10 finishes at multiple national qualifiers, including a seventh-place finish at Triple Crown. Their recent wave of 2028 college commitments speaks to the talent throughout the roster, but championships are often won with defense. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='536308' first='Haedyn' last='Lynnes'] has quietly become one of the anchors of this group, bringing consistency in serve receive while extending rallies with her relentless pursuit.

[program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 16-1 opens in Pool 2 as the No. 23 overall seed after securing an at-large bid. The resume includes a 19th-place finish at NIT, along with several top-15 qualifier performances against elite competition. Like [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''], [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] celebrated multiple Division I commitments this past week, highlighting the depth throughout the lineup. Middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='729590' first='Briley' last='Zerbe'] has been a difference-maker all season and was particularly impressive during the Midwest Pre-National event, controlling the net with her blocking and quick offensive tempo.

Mavs 16 Elite punched its ticket to Indianapolis in Boston and arrives as the No. 25 seed. Their success wasn't limited to qualifier season, either, as they were one of the most consistent teams throughout the Heart of America [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] League. This is a team that rarely beats itself. Their ball control keeps them in system, their defensive effort frustrates opponents, and setter [player_tooltip player_id='729549' first='Jaelyn' last='Jordan'] does an excellent job distributing the offense while keeping blockers guessing.

Gateway representative HPSTL 16 Royal earned its bid with an outstanding performance at Windy City. They'll begin play in Pool 6 carrying an impressive résumé that includes multiple top-10 qualifier finishes and a top-15 showing at Triple Crown. The Royals boast four early college commitments, a testament to both their individual talent and team success. One player to watch is Saral Albers, whose versatility and offensive production have helped fuel another strong campaign.

[program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last=''] 16 Elite returns to the national stage after taking care of business at Show Me. They'll open in Pool 5 after a season that featured one of the more unique paths in the region. The year began with the team competing up an age group in the 18 USA Division at MLK, where they battled all the way to a runner-up finish. After enduring some growing pains at NIT, [program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last=''] found its rhythm during April with two outstanding qualifier performances. Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='832443' first='Gracyn' last='Lamley'] has been a dynamic scorer all season, impacting matches both from the pin and the back row.

17 Open

If the 16 Open field is loaded, the 17s aren't far behind. Five more teams from the region enter Indianapolis with realistic hopes of making a deep run.

[program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 17-1 owns the highest local seed at No. 16 and opens in Pool 3 after earning its bid in Boston. Few teams have matched [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'s consistency throughout the qualifier season, regularly finishing inside the top 10 against elite national competition. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='729510' first='Andi' last='Gardner'] serves as the heartbeat of the defense, providing steady passing, outstanding range, and the type of reliability championship teams depend on.

Just behind them sits [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 17 Elite, the No. 18 seed in Pool 7. Rockwood secured its bid in Utah and has steadily built momentum over the final stretch of the season. The middle tandem of [player_tooltip player_id='828251' first='Jayla' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='475326' first='Bailey' last='Hensgens'] presents one of the better one-two combinations in the tournament. Both are explosive off the floor, attack efficiently in transition, and give opposing setters plenty to think about with their blocking presence.

[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 17 Black enters as the No. 29 seed after qualifying at Northern Lights. Throughout the season, [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] has shown it can compete with anyone when its offense is clicking. While the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] hitters naturally grab attention, one of the team's biggest developments has been the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='830841' first='Camryn' last='Minatee'] in the libero jersey. Her transition into the role has provided another layer of stability to an already dangerous lineup.

[program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last=''] 17 Elite follows closely as the No. 31 seed after earning its provisional bid at MEQ. Their season announced itself early with a championship in the 18 USA Division at MLK before a seventh-place finish at NIT. Additional top-10 performances at Show Me and Salt Lake proved that success was no fluke. Defensively, libero [player_tooltip player_id='446327' first='Molly' last='Bokenkroger'] has been a calming presence behind the block, consistently turning difficult plays into transition opportunities.

Rounding out the regional contingent is HPSTL 17 Royal, which secured an at-large bid after consistently finishing in the upper half of some of the nation's toughest Open qualifiers, highlighted by a ninth-place finish at Sunshine. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='544916' first='Reese' last='Rogers'] headlines a back row that should keep the Royals in plenty of matches. Her first-step quickness and passing platform make her one of the more dependable defenders in the field. When Rogers rotates out, [player_tooltip player_id='801043' first='Aubrey' last='Dumstorff'] steps into the libero jersey without the defense skipping a beat.

The Open Division annually delivers some of the highest-level volleyball in the country, and this year's field is no different. Eleven days of work have led to this moment. Now, five teams in each age group will try to turn months of consistency into a national championship run in Indianapolis.

The countdown continues until the 16s and 17s take center stage in Indianapolis, chasing one of the most coveted prizes in club volleyball. With so much talent to cover in just a few days, we're combining age groups by division. We begin with the deepest field of them all: the Open Division.
