USAV Showcase 2: Standout Bros

At this showcase, there was load of talent in the backcourt. From being fearless defenders to steady serve receivers, these liberos consistently found ways to impact their courts. She established an early platform in serve receive, read the ball well, and consistently passed off her midline. Her ability to get behind the ball and deliver quality passes allowed her team to stay in system and keep the offense flowing. She brought relentless energy from start to finish, covering the court from end line to end line and never giving up. Her hustle was impossible to miss as she came up with several impressive digs and saves. She plays with grit, determination, and with the mind set of a true defender. Her mechanics are clean which allows her to avoid those unnecessary false steps and maker herself more efficient. Combine that with excellent reflexes and fast reactions and you have a libero with a consistent presence in the back row. One of the things that stood out most was her ability to stay on her feet instead of diving last minute for everything. She was simply solid in every part of the game, making very few mistakes while consistently making an impact on every play. She handled serve receive with confidence, delivered quality of system sets, and played solid defense throughout the showcase. Defensively, she anticipates the ball well, covers a lot of ground and consistently puts herself in the right position to make plays. While she is young, I was also impressed with her use of hands in out of system situations, which let her deliver quality sets to the pins for points. She stayed low and balanced, allowing her to move efficiently and stay in control throughout plays. One thing that stood out was her ability to remain on her feet, which helped her adjust quickly and not get in the way of her attackers.
