Austin's All-Showcase Team: Nebraska Stock Up

We had to stew over this one.   Our post-showcase coverage typically comes with an "all-event" team. Even with all the reps I've accumulated in this niche, these selections never get any easier. Saturday's Nebraska Stock Up Showcase presented so many worthy options for this feature. We had a medley of familiar stars and new standouts, giving us a full range of options for the all-showcase squad--and for many more features to come throughout the week.   We have no specific player count or limit for these, so pardon us if we go overboard in stacking this roster. These players were too good to pass up.    We're starting with our binding force at the setter position. Backemeyer has built a long-standing reputation as a setter who can do a little of everything. She has been a steady distributor in the Nebraska Juniors gym and found great regional success this year with Nebraska Juniors 16 Black. But Backemeyer gives us more than the smooth hands needed to run the show. Her willingness to get physical and aggressive at the net stood out at Saturday's showcase. It's a continuation of what we've seen from Backemeyer at Elmwood-Murdock, where she has carried roles as a setter and an attacker. She is ready-made for a 5-1 offense.     Let's linger on the right pin for our next selection. Bartholet returned to the same game-changing form we saw when she ran the net for Premier Nebraska 16 Black this spring. Her exceptional range at the opposite position provided a new layer to the 16 Black attack, and it came together for several highlight moments at April's Show Me Qualifier. That event was Bartholet's spring breakout en route to a bid, and the Skutt Catholic junior has not slowed down this summer. She was adaptable on both sides of the setter at Saturday's showcase and set the edge with her wing blocking. Another stock-rising opportunity awaits this fall.     Ramirez-Rousseau's performance in our six-on-six scrimmages was impossible to miss. She was unstoppable when facing a single blocker at the net, carving indefensible angles with heavy heat. Denting the floor wasn't Ramirez-Rousseau's only objective, however. The Lincoln Pius X junior also showed her uncanny ability to make blocking reads and line up with her opposing hitter. Our Stock Up Showcase served as a reminder of why Ramirez-Rousseau and her VCNebraska team rose to Open status in the GJNC bid race. This Class of 2028 cast came to play.     It's a clean sweep at the middle blocker spot for VCNebraska 16 Elite. Jacobsen joins Ramirez-Rousseau on the other side of our middle rotation, giving us some club cohesion and tremendous physicality. This York upperclassman produced eye-popping numbers in Year 2 with the Dukes, highlighted by 3.7 kills per set on over 1,000 total swings. That high school tenure put Jacobsen's pin potential in the prep spotlight, but she locks down the middle for her VCN crew. Jacobsen did it with tremendous results in 2026 and walled off the tape again at the Stock Up Showcase.     She's doing it for the small-town crew. Hinton had one of the best freshman campaigns of any Nebraska athlete in the Class of 2029. Her 350 kills on a 0.250 clip paved the way for Adams Central to reclaim its rightful place in the state tournament field. But this high-flying pin hitter wanted a little more postseason volleyball. She helped her South Central NE 15 Black clinch a GJNC berth through the Great Plains Region, putting a group of rural gems on the national club stage. Hinton's six-rotation skills flourished in the South Central NE gym, so she was fully primed for an all-around onslaught at our showcase.     This was an encore performance for Cattau. The Class of 2030 hasn't officially entered our coverage sphere yet, but Cattau was one of the rare 2030s to appear on last year's Prep Dig Circuit. Even while sparring with older competitors, this outside hitter delivered a performance that immediately put her on our radar in 2025. Cattau has somehow become even more dominant. The Shelby-Rising City freshman-to-be is ready to make her mark in Class C2 with her rocket arm and fearless attitude. She was among the most vocal terminators at the Stock Up Showcase, making clear calls about the sets she needed. It's no wonder why Cattau was a featured force on VCNebraska's top 14s team.     Here's another VCNebraska 2030 we've known about for a while. Nunes played up a year with VCNebraska 15 Elite, so we had ample chances to see this rising freshman in action. Like many other athletes we've discussed here, the Show Me Qualifier was a huge peak in Nunes' development and upward trajectory. The bright lights of Kansas City did not deter this standout defender, who roared to a bid-earning triumph with 15 Elite. And, as we learned at last weekend's event, Nunes' backcourt excellence persists no matter who's on her side of the net.
