Oregon Stock Up: Front-Row Terminators Who Turned Heads (Part 1)

Attackers were taking big swings, challenging the block, and finding creative ways to score all day long. What made this group fun to watch was their variety. They weren't relying on the same attack over and over. They mixed tempos, worked different attacking lanes, changed up their shots, and forced defenses to adjust every rally. She showed a smooth approach, stayed balanced through her swing, and consistently attacked with confidence. Whether the set was in tempo or pushed outside, she adjusted well and kept the ball in play with purpose. She attacked with a high contact point, stayed explosive through her approach, and did a nice job finding attacking windows against the block. What caught my attention was how she mixed pace into her offense. She was aggressive in transition, got up the floor well, and wasn't afraid to take swings against a set block. She attacked high, challenged blockers, and continued to swing confidently whether the ball was in the system or not. Holmes also showed good body control at contact, allowing her to adjust late and still put quality swings on the ball. She moved well around the net, stayed close to her setter, and found ways to score consistently without trying to do too much. One of the better parts of her game was shot selection, taking advantage of the block when available and finding open court when defenders committed early. Whether swinging hard or making a late adjustment at the net, McDonald remained calm and kept the pressure on the defense.
