Yes, we're going back to the prep previews.

In case you missed it, we just kicked off our summer wave of Kansas rankings updates. The Class of 2027 is first into the spotlight, representing the rising senior leaders of the Sunflower State. We already delved into some senior duos to watch this fall, but we're digging further into the prep leaderboards for this one.

All position groups are in play for this one. Unsurprisingly, our ranked list features dozens of athletes who have packed Kansas' prep stat sheets throughout their careers. Record-breaking campaigns are an easy way to get noticed no matter which corner of the state you occupy. And, conveniently, any position can put up monster numbers worthy of attention.

Look for these 2027s to take a share of that attention in their swan song seasons. The bar is already high, but Kansas seniors are ready to raise it.

We're starting with one of the most efficient, terminal attackers on Kansas' 2025 tab. Michaelis made a meteoric rise to the forefront of the state's junior class, tallying nearly 500 kills on a 0.400 clip. Those are seldom-reached numbers that landed Michaelis a next-level commitment with Southwestern Oklahoma State. Lakin High School allows Michaelis to run in tandem with her setter, churning out swings at any gap along the net. This has translated to reps as a middle-pin hybrid that will boost Michaelis' stock in the college game.

There's that Manhattan Mayhem crew again. Bruna dazzled us through her work with Manhattan Mayhem 17P this year, culminating in a Prep Dig Iowa Clash championship and a top-five finish in GJNC's 17 USA division. However, club competition is not the only venue where Bruna has made her mark. This dominant attacker logged over four kills per set on a sky-high 0.396 clip for Hanover last fall, demonstrating her ability to hit from anywhere at the net. That exceptional volume should persist in Year 4.

We have plenty to see on Kansas' rural prep scene. Lipker carries the banner for Clay Center, which earned a third-place finish at the 4A last fall. The Tigers' junior star catalyzed the effort, as evidenced by Lipker's 4.6 kills per set and a second consecutive season with over 300 digs. She carves angles with indefensible heat while also using her length to swing over opposing blocks. Lipker's stats are impressive, but she will likely be laser-focused on going one step further in the tournament this November.

Here's another all-around athlete who finds every corner of the box score. Zeller did it all for Wabaunsee in 2025, piling up over 300 kills, 400 digs, and a wildly impressive 1.3 blocks per set. She blurs the line between a pin hitter and a middle blocker when she suits up for the Chargers. Any tempo or location is good enough for Zeller as long as it's in her hitting window. Her constant command doesn't waver when taking first contacts in the back row, either. This is a double-double machine with unlimited potential as a senior leader.

Let's bring in the setters. Bloom was a masterful distributor for Raider Nation as a junior, averaging nine assists per set for her 26-15 squad. Such a high total requires some relentless hustle and a willingness to track down any pass you're given. That's what Bloom brought to Frontenac in her second year as the team's featured setter. She will surpass 2,000 career assists in her final campaign while aiming for one of Frontenac's best seasons in recent memory.

Clark made a massive leap in the assists column as she rose to upperclassman status with Norton. She had seen some attacking roles as a sophomore, but Clark flourished as the junior signal-caller for the ever-competitive Bluejays. Her 10.3 assists per set put her near the top of Kansas' leaderboard in any class. Clark backed that up with her best defensive output in the right-back area, adding to Norton's ability to hang in long rallies.

We started this feature in the western half of Kansas, so let's circle back there to close it out. Gentry has played almost every position imaginable for Scott Community, from setter to outside hitter. Last season brought the best in Gentry's quick right arm, resulting in 3.7 kills per set and over 1,000 total swings in the 2025 campaign. That incredible volume came despite some stints that put Gentry in charge of guiding the offense on the second contact. The 2027 star rounded everything out with over 400 digs to cement her status as a six-rotation force.
