Ten Players Making Huge Leaps in Kansas 2029 Rankings Update

What a fitting way to close out our multi-week run of Kansas rankings updates. As we alluded to in our intro piece, this wave of overhauls is far from the end of the journey. We're exploring an accelerated timetable for our next updates as a way to revitalize and jumpstart the Kansas site. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to pitch in, and I can't wait to see where it takes us from here.   Our latest stop in the trek is with these <a href="https://prepdig.com/kansas/rankings/2029-rankings/" id="https://prepdig.com/kansas/rankings/2029-rankings/">Kansas 2029 rankings</a>. The state's rising sophomores have already made an indelible mark on the entire prep scene, both within local confines and on the national landscape. That has yielded plenty of movement and additions for our list.   Some of these ascents were particularly dramatic. We're starting our post-release coverage with ten athletes who catapulted up the 2029 rankings while setting themselves up for a sophomore surge.    We had to start here. Milo towered over opposing defenses as KC Power 15-1 battled to the final 15 Open bracket at USAV Nationals. That Indianapolis stint was only a small chapter in Milo's spectacular club season, highlighted by a championship run at March's Mideast Qualifier. Her inclusion in the top tier of our Kansas 2029 rankings was inevitable, and Milo still has even further to climb.     This year's Shockwave 16 Black squad churned out plenty of rankings storylines for our 2028 update. Now, we have another one for the 2029s. Davee's long stature and sky-high contact point were enough to justify playing with the 16s this year, and the big-time results rolled in. Her scoring onslaught in front of the setter lifted Shockwave to a top-five placement at AAU Nationals, capping a stellar season for the Wichita-area group. This unstoppable middle blocker looks poised for a big uptick in production in Year 2 with Maize South.     Let's drum up a few showcase memories. VanNess' natural distribution skills were a highlight of last winter's Prep Dig Missouri/Kansas Showcase, but that was just the beginning of the ascent. Her club tenure with Dynasty 15 Black revealed what VanNess could accomplish against the nation's best. A combination of quick feet and pin-to-pin accuracy propelled VanNess into the spotlight during 15 Black's Show Me championship run. That excellence continued through USAV Nationals.     [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] isn't just known for its savvy setters, either. Salmon has perpetuated the strong tradition of terminal opposites in the club's arsenal, all while producing unparalleled first-year impact on the Kansas prep scene. She set the bar for nearly all Sunflower State freshmen with 2.7 kills per set on a 0.362 clip. That high-efficiency style has immediately translated to the club arena.     Floyd's steady hands carried plenty of responsibilities during PVA 15 Elite's rise to national Open contention. The De Soto star proved she could play around the dial while remaining a physical force in her frontcourt rotations. That scoring threat, along with her exceptional wing blocking, elevated Floyd's leadership throughout the spring. She'll be eager to take the reins on the prep side as we pivot to the high school side.     We might as well double down on [program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last='']'s ball control prowess. Stilley anchored the first contacts for 15 Elite, diming transition digs and delivering perfect passes for her sideout offense. She also carried all the secondary responsibilities you could levy on a libero. Stilley's willingness to set the offense on the second ball has distinguished her among a stacked group of KC-area gems.     We'll draw plenty of rankings headlines for the Manhattan Mayhem/Mamba camp. Steinlage ascended an age group for the 2026 club season, representing Manhattan Mayhem's top 16s crew. The Centralia sophomore has already made a splash on the prep side by compiling over 160 kills in her debut season with the Panthers. Steinlage's physical presence in the Manhattan Mayhem gym helped bolster her stock-riser case.     It's showtime. Hiner's preeminence in the 2029 rankings goes far beyond her work with KNVBC 15 Showtime. She also delivered a triple-digit kill total for Garden Plain last fall, starting her stock-riser argument earlier than most. She continued to light up the front row for 15 Showtime and displayed her aptitude on both sides of the setter. It's the perfect setup for subsequent gains in our next updates.     We now visit with one of Manhattan Mamba's many dominant teams on the national club circuit. Ahlers brought the hammer on both pins as Manhattan Mayhem 15-1 clinched its GJNC berth at MEQ. Whenever this group needed an out-of-system hammer to deliver a kill, Ahlers was always a worthy option. She joins a host of other Little Apple athletes who established a growing foothold in our 2029 rankings.     MAVS KC has a knack for producing skilled, versatile gems in the ball control phase. Evans filled that niche while running the show for MAVS KC 15 National. The Olathe South sophomore showed us a little of everything during 15 National's journey through the 15 USA division. Evans is a fluid jump setter whose twitchiness also aids her backcourt defense. She has even been known to take some jaw-dropping swings on the right pin, too.
