2030s You Need To Get On Your Radar- Part 3

We are moving on to the last part of our 30 2030 standouts, and although it's the last, it's certainly not the least. We have another group of 10 talented rising stars. Although she's not the biggest, she has quite the vertical and power to help her stand out on the court. Kaylene is a disciplined player with a growth mindset and drive like no other. Now, Cordes is going to show what she can contribute to the Marion Wolves, which is a team that made quite the run in post season, making it to the state tournament quarterfinals. This kid is on an upward trend, and I can't wait to see where it takes her.     Usually, when teams run a 5-1, you expect their setter to be super tall and a lefty, but not Gabby. Although she's not the tallest or a lefty, she makes it very clear why she runs a 5-1. First of all, Quick is a very well fitting last name with how she's able to not only get to every ball, but also how she's able to get her hands on every ball. Not only does she have amazing hands, but her court awareness and IQ are on a whole other level. She does an extraordinary job reading her opponents' defense and making the best play for her team. My favorite thing about Quick is the sneaky little setter dump that she takes that somehow always finds the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='1017912' first='Rylee' last='Phelps'] is another promising six-rotation pin who showcased her versatility through all aspects of the game this past season. Phelps is already on the right track to go far with her physicality and athleticism. She just needs a little more exposure and fine-tuning to really reach that next level, and I think this is that year for her. I'm still waiting to see where she lands for the high school season. But I have a lot of confidence that she's going to get talked about quite a bit.     Brooklyn is another back-row baller who had to be added to the list. Scheetz has been a consistent and strong piece of Iowa United's program over the last two years. Brooklyn is an unstoppable libero who doesn't shy away from competition. No matter who's on the other side of the net, Brooklyn keeps her gameplay and grit the same. She really hones in on clean first-contact passes to her setter. And even when going up against the best, she manages to get touches on every ball she can. Sheetz is another DS that is in the running for top in the state and has aspirations to get even better.     [player_tooltip player_id='1017922' first='Sohena' last='Singh'] has the perfect physicality that you look for in a middle. Her height, vertical, lengthy arms, and speed all contribute to her stellar gameplay. Singh moves very well laterally and does a good job generating speed and power through her approach. The MB from Platform Elite had her fair share of turning heads this past season with her powerful swing and blocking abilities. With her being pushed within the PV program, I have high expectations for her this upcoming club season.     [player_tooltip player_id='790527' first='Kate' last='Pieper'] is another "do-it-all" kind of athlete who surpasses every expectation that is set for her. The best thing about Pieper is the way she keeps her ball control so clean and precise. From setting to hitting to defense, Kate does it all, and she does it better than most. She's not trying to show off by looking flashy and cool; you can tell she is disciplined and focused on control, which makes her stand out even more. You can expect to hear more about Pieper throughout the high school season.     Another athlete who can do a little bit of everything is [player_tooltip player_id='878889' first='Payson' last='Ellard']. The CCA freshman was a primo hitter for Iowa United's 141 Elite and is now making herself known at CCA. Ellard brings a calm and intimidating presence to the net. What some might mistake for quiet or off is actually just another level of focus and determination. Basically, she has her game speak for itself with a scary swing and strong block. Now with her being in the CCA program with some of the greats, she's only going to get better from here.     At this point, who hasn't heard of this kid? [player_tooltip player_id='877691' first='Piper' last='Peterson'] is another fan favorite for many. With the energy, aggression, and power she brings to the court, how could you not enjoy watching her? Peterson sets the tone the second she steps into the gym and doesn't let up for anyone. The speed she brings to the game makes it incredibly hard for blockers to shut down and tough for hitters to get around. Peterson has continued to flourish over the last year, and it looks like she has no intention of slowing down.     Peyton is kind of a unicorn of a volleyball player because she can truly do it all. You need her to set; she's got the ball placement, hands, and the ability to run an offense. Need her to step in and swing; she's going to make every set you give her better. Need someone to pass; she's not going to let the ball drop. Her dedication to the sport is unlike most; she has a commitment that is hard to find in other younger athletes. Duplessis has already proven herself in more ways than one, most notably by playing Open at AAU Nationals this summer. Although she was undersized compared to a lot of her opponents, she played fearlessly and went toe-to-toe against some of the top-ranked 2030s in the nation.     Anfinson has no trouble showcasing her pure athleticism, whether it's on the court or on the field. Not only will Riley be contributing to the Wildcat varsity volleyball team this fall, but she has also made an impact within the softball program as well. Anfinson doesn't look all that intimidating at first glance, but once she goes up to swing, that intimidation kicks in real quick. She is your go-to terminator when you're in a tight game, and she's able to put up a brick wall on defense.
