6 Middles You Couldn’t Ignore at Stock Up Showcase

That was this group at the Stock Up Showcase. They were moving pin to pin, getting hands over the net, working hard in transition, and staying available for their setters on every play. Then when the ball did come their way, they made it count.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What made these six fun to watch was how much they could do. Quick attacks, slides, block touches, closing seams, and changing direction in transition. Each player gave you something different every time you looked over. These weren't middles waiting around for a set. She got off the ground quickly, was ready early for her setter, and attacked with a fast arm when the ball came her way. I also liked her work after the first contact. She worked hard to get from pin to pin, pressed her hands over the net, and took away space with a strong blocking presence. She wasn't stuck running the same ball all day, and I liked how naturally she changed her approach depending on what was available. She could get up quickly, move behind the setter, and stay involved in transition. What kept catching my attention was how hard she worked between touches. She stayed disciplined instead of guessing, moved well laterally, and did an impressive job getting her hands in front of hitters. On offense, her timing was there too. She showed quick feet along the net, good timing off one foot, and the ability to get up and attack before the block was completely formed. There were several plays where her speed alone created problems.
