Division I, Class AAA, Regions 7 and 8 Players Making Waves

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 7th Region consists of schools in and around Clarksville and Region 8 is made of schools in and around Memphis. Clarksville High and Arlington met for fourth place at state last year with the Clarksville Wildcats prevailing 3-2. Arlington returns a solid team comprised of the likes of [player_tooltip player_id='828834' first='Addison' last='Harris'] and [player_tooltip player_id='953503' first='Eman' last='Nuhic'] while Clarksville also returns a solid team led by [player_tooltip player_id='940989' first='Katie' last='Haake'], [player_tooltip player_id='953425' first='Polly' last='Olita'] and [player_tooltip player_id='959333' first='Avery' last='Hawkins']. Thus, another state champion could soon come from one of these regions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Collierville and Houston have been state runner-up in the last 10 years. She keeps opponents on their toes with a nice mixture of hard and off shots. She rips balls into seams on ones, gap shots and other routes and uses her off (left) hand to tip balls to shallow parts of the court. Dressler also does a good job tooling blocks. She has sound blocking form and makes nice passes in the back row. She sends nice off shots to deep corners and side lines and can tool blocks. Oney does not rush her swings. Oney tips to open areas of the court. She sends nice jump float serves to open areas of the court and is not afraid to come back to weak spots on the other side. She uses her size to set balls at tough angles, allowing hitters to get up and pound balls down. She does a great job sending sets back toward the net when out of system. Nuhic involves a number of hitters, consistently putting balls in power zones so they can terminate them with authority. Nuhic executes a variety of sets including back sets. Her sound decision making on where to set balls also can't be overlooked. Cooper makes the most of sets, consistently finding ways to put down balls across. Cooper is especially tough on ones and gap shots. Cooper smacks balls to the ground with a solid downward trajectory. She is difficult to defend with her high attack point and vertical jump. Cooper uses her off (right) hand to tip balls and surprise opponents and can tool blocks. Hunter uses a great platform to make consistent two to three-point passes. Hunter keeps her arms above her hips and swings them to her sides to own the back row. Hunter makes the simple passes.
