Houston Area HS Team to Watch: Seven Lakes

<p>The high school volleyball season is about to start in the Lone Star State, and we at Prep Dig Texas can't wait to get back to the exciting routine of being out there multiple times a week and checking out how teams and players progress as the season unfolds.</p>   <p>Like the past years, we'll continue to provide the best coverage of the high school season in the Houston area and beyond, featuring weekly previews, match reports, standout reviews, photo galleries and social media posts, and giving the talented prospects in our state the exposure they deserve.</p>   <p>Before the season gets underway, we'd like to feature some teams from the Houston area we believe have the potential to have incredible seasons.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven Lakes</h2>   <p>The Seven Lakes Spartans from Katy are coming from a solid 27-12 season in 2025, which saw them rank third in the competitive District 19 before going down to Dawson in the Regional Finals. Although some important players graduated, Seven Lakes still have arguably their three most important pillars in senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='805228' first='Gracie' last='Hobin'], senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='947318' first='Willtrace' last='Ngoh'] and junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='820056' first='Nlonna' last='Okwura']. They will be flanked by a group of talented players that includes junior setter Ani Reyes, senior right side Francesca Farinez, senior outside hitters Peyton Embra and [player_tooltip player_id='832391' first='Sofia' last='Faidi'], senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='1002842' first='Kassidy' last='Leggins'] and senior libero Emma Sabelli.</p>   <p><strong>Key Players</strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior outside hitter will be the focal point of Seven Lakes' offense at the pin. Combining size and remarkable skills, Hobin is comfortable in the role and has what it takes to carry a significant load offensively for them. Hobin, who can also play as a middle, makes the most of her high contact point offensively and has excellent vision, consistently making the right choices and avoiding errors. She has a large repertoire offensively and knows when to use each of her options. Hobin also contributes in other areas of the game, putting on a big and efficient block at the pin and performing well in serve-receive.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ttss_LTm7b8 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior middle has been one of the fastest-rising players in the entire country and was recently with the US U20 national team. An athletic freak, Ngoh is an elite blocker who not only gets stops at a high volume but also gets them in key moments of matches, making a real impact in games. She moves very quickly at the net, gets off the floor incredibly well and is extremely aggressive above the net, getting in the way of opposing hitters. Her offense is also very powerful, and she can be a key contributor in that area of the game, too, when she gets going, as besides making contact with the ball at a high point, she also hits it very hard.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/10/2J4A0088.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-893195" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Paired with Ngoh, the junior middle forms arguably the strongest duo in the position in the entire state. Standing at 6'3", Okwura is massive and uses her size incredibly well to her advantage at the net. Despite being so tall, she's very mobile and has a well-developed offense, which allows her to hit many different sets in the middle and to make contact with the ball at a very high point, being nearly untouchable for most opponents.
