Some really good 2027 setters are still out there looking for the right college fit, and this fall gives coaches another chance to see them run their high school offenses. These setters have varsity experience, know how to manage a court, and have continued to grow in the position.

For me, this isn't just about assist totals. I'm watching how they handle a bad pass, where they go when a point gets tight, how well they use their middles, and whether they can keep hitters in rhythm when things start moving fast. These juniors are still uncommitted, and there is plenty here for college coaches to follow this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='579548' first='Veda' last='Weber'] runs the court with confidence. She's vocal with her hitters, communicates what she wants, and isn't afraid to take control when things start getting scattered. I liked her ability to get off the net and still put up a hittable ball without losing her composure. Weber also took coaching and made the change without needing a lot of extra conversation. She has a presence at setter that you notice. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='746256' first='Bella' last='Giefer'] likes to play fast. When the pass was there, she got the ball out quickly and gave her hitters opportunities before the block could fully close. She was comfortable using the entire net and didn't slow the offense down trying to make the perfect decision. Giefer can push tempo without looking rushed, and that is a tough balance for a setter to have. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='643692' first='Siri' last='Maciej'] did a good job reading what was in front of her. She wasn't sitting by habit. If a matchup was there, she went after it. If the block started leaning or sitting on an option, she was willing to move the ball somewhere else. Maciej also knew when to stay with a hitter who was scoring rather than getting too cute with the offense. Those decisions gave me a solid look at how she sees the court. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='731837' first='Aubrey' last='Aday'] competes for the second ball. A pass could pull her well off the net, and she was going after it, finding a way to get her hands on it and keeping her hitters involved. Her work didn't end after the set either. She covered and stayed active through the rest of the rally. Aday brought the same energy after a mistake as she did after a strong rep, and that showed throughout her play. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='741224' first='Ella' last='Dahl']'s location was repeatable. Her hitters weren't constantly adjusting to a different ball, and that stayed true even when first contact wasn't clean. Dahl worked to position her feet there, squared up when she could, and gave the hitter something usable when she couldn't. She didn't try to turn every bad pass into a perfect play. Sometimes the best setter decision is simply giving your hitter a ball she can do something with, and Dahl did that well. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
