Liberos to Watch at the Katy-Cy Fair Tournament

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school volleyball season officially kicks off in the state of Texas this week, and some exciting preseason tournaments are set to take place in the Lone Star State as varsity teams prepare to begin their district campaigns very soon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of them is the Katy ISD-Cy Fair ISD Tournament, a traditional event that gathers some of the best programs of the Houston area and other regions of the state in the Katy and Cypress areas. In 2026, as many as 48 teams will play on six high school campuses in the area from Thursday, August 13, to Saturday, August 15.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas will cover the event and take a look at some of the best players in the state very early into the new season, but before the action begins, let's introduce you to some of the most promising prospects who will be on the court in the event. Very quick and technical, the senior provides great stability to the team and helps keep them in system with her remarkable serve-receive skills. Ngo is very quick with her movement, has excellent ball control and uses angles very well to handle tough serves and ensure accurate deliveries. The libero works very hard to keep the ball off the floor and her energy often motivates her teammates on the court. One of the top liberos in the state, the junior is a key piece in the team's playing system, leading their back row with her outstanding play and efficient communication. Pipes is always very calm and consistent on the ball, producing accurate deliveries when passing, playing defense and setting. A sophomore, she earned a spot in the team's starting lineup as a freshman, and, after an excellent first season with them, should have an even more important role with the team. A player with remarkable technical skills, Gutierrez is also very confident in the back row and doesn't hesitate to take the lead and step up to make plays. The senior is a hard-working and productive libero who uses her solid technical foundations to make a big impact on the back row for her team. Moncada does a great job of keeping her body shape consistent before making contact with the ball and, with that, keeps her actions in serve-receive and defense very precise. A senior, she's one of the pillars of the team and makes an impact in everything they do on the court. Her game is highly consistent and Noone has a big role in serve-receive, stepping up to cover a large area of the court for them. She's probably even more productive on defense, making the most of her ability to read the game and quickness to adjust to keep the ball up and generate transition plays for her team.
