New Names to Know in Nebraska 2028 Rankings Update

There's always room for more. The past year has given us plenty of volleyball to take in, from the statewide high school circuit to the club season's national barnstorming campaign. Mins joined the wave of 2028s climbing the age ladder to compete with 17 Blue, one of AVC's most successful lineups this spring. Whenever 17 Blue needed a clutch kill or game-changing block at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament, Mins was keen to deliver. The Lexington junior packed more of that springy athleticism to USAV Nationals, where 17 Blue emerged in the final bracket of the 17 Freedom division. Like AVC, WWVA brought many of its small-town 2028s up to the club's top 17s crew. Coufal emerged as a trendsetting terminator for her 17 Diamonds team, racking up quality reps in the middle and opposite positions. Her do-everything mindset shone no matter which spot she occupied in the starting rotation. Hagedorn reconvened with many of her Lincoln Pius X peers to form a formidable frontcourt with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Blue. This squad has already brought plenty of new names for our junior radar, and Hagedorn looks like a classic multi-sport star from the Thunderbolts' stable. Moylan was a featured contributor for Nebraska Elite 16 Prime, which made a few high-leverage qualifier stops in 2026. This Omaha Marian junior can tee off as an outside hitter, but her fortitude in the middle-back area caught our attention this summer. Moylan was a constant source of positive energy for 16 Prime while dishing out the first contacts to elevate the offense. Lantz enters the spotlight after anchoring Nebraska Juniors 16 Red's backcourt through several grueling, hard-fought weekends. We most recently saw Lantz in action at AAU Nationals, where she proved she could better the ball in every way imaginable. She has carried DS roles in the Nebraska Juniors gym, but her work as a backcourt setter was particularly notable in late-season action. Novotny already made her case to join the watch list after racking up starting experience with last fall's Diller-Odell squad. She perpetuated this momentum by providing some of 16 Lime's most physical blocks at the net. Even when she wasn't stuffing the ball straight down, Novotny generated the touches needed to give her backcourt an assist. This success was aided by the 16 Red lineup, which won its division at the Nebraska Showdown and reached the final 16 American Blue bracket at Show Me. River City Jrs squads find success through quality first contacts, and that's where Sanchez stepped up for 16 Red. Her willingness to patrol the middle-back area and ease passing burdens for her teammates put 16 Red over the top in high-pressure situations.
