It boasts high-end talent at the top and really good players throughout. Thinking about its future in the game and beyond is exciting.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fortunately, these student-athletes have another prep season to shine. If you're a volleyball fan, seek out these kids if they're playing in your area. Schools travel around the state on Saturdays (and sometimes during the week) for competitive tournaments. They're fast-paced and fun with intriguing match-ups featuring super players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take closer look at members of the class. I'm always drawn to the ones remaining uncommitted at this stage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I wrote about them <a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/08/top-uncommitted-talent-in-iowa-27-rankings-update/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepdig.com/2026/08/top-uncommitted-talent-in-iowa-27-rankings-update/"><strong>HERE</strong></a> and <strong>HERE</strong>. Then I realized it would be difficult to cover them all in-depth. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Apologies for my brevity moving forward but let's go rapid-fire to highlight more student-athletes:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='555736' first='Lila' last='Eastvold'], S, Iowa City West: </strong>Set up Iowa City West's march to the state tournament last season, the program's first trip since 2016. When she gets in a groove, Eastvold hits the attack points with precision. Her height and long arms allow for all-around contributions. There's also room for growth. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='525829' first='Addison' last='Phillips'], MH, Cedar Rapids Kennedy:</strong> I had a chance to see Phillips in action again during the Prep Dig Sizzle at the beginning of the month at Xtream Arena. The Kennedy and Adrenaline stalwart is an impactful two-way middle with the athleticism to hit from the pin. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='493975' first='Stella' last='Largent'], OH, ACGC: </strong>Largent produced an absurd number of kills (514, .266) in 92 sets for ACGC last season. The junior ranked third on the squad with 224 digs. I watched her multiple times competing through six rotations for a United team that reached the USAV Nationals. Don't let the small school success fool you, Largent is a legit college prospect. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='555781' first='Addisson' last='Hogan'], DS/L, Beckman Catholic: </strong>A staple in the CIA and Beckman back rows for years running, Hogan is a reliable defender and facilitator off of serve-receive. The junior came up with 506 digs last season in helping the Trailblazers to the state tournament. She shined in the jersey during her club squad's journey to the USAV National Tournament. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='493659' first='Adalyn' last='Kruse'], OH, Holy Trinity Catholic: </strong>Kruse has been a consistent producer of winning teams at Holy Trinity and in club for multiple years. She cranked out 391 kills (.280) in 107 sets in 2025. An all-around performer with an array of volleyball skills, Kruse also came up with 345 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='830328' first='Bianca' last='Grimm'], OH, Union Community: </strong>Grimm is another student-athlete I scouted at the recent Prep Dig Sizzle in Coralville and scrimmages at Clear Creek Aman. The senior continued to impress through six rotations and play bigger than her physical stature might indicate. Grimm led the Knights in kills and ranked third in digs a season ago. Colleges should check in here, for sure.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='555712' first='Sophia' last='Meester'], OH, Mount Vernon: </strong>Meester has been contributing at one of the state's most consistently good programs since she was a freshman. She's steadily improved her all-around volleyball skills and played a key role in victories galore. Meester's versatility would fit nicely on plenty of college rosters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='555799' first='Natalie' last='Marzen'], RS/OH, Van Meter: </strong>Marzen led Van Meter with 214 kills (.237) and 260 digs last season. She was named fourth-team all-state in Class 3A by the coaches association. I was impressed with how Marzen competed when watching her with Roots Volleyball Academy this club year. Marzen is poised for a big final prep campaign. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
