It’s been enjoyable watching Eastvold develop he game during the last few seasons. She played well last club campaign before guiding Iowa City West to its first state tournament berth since 2016 this past fall. My first chance to scout her this year came at the 2026 Nike President’s Day Classic, where Adrenaline 17 Marty was competing in the open division. Eastvold stood out as one of the most impactful players on that squad. She loacted the ball where her attackers could maximize their skills and took advantage with her own attack when spotting an opening. Eastvold is a taller setter that plays even bigger thanks to long arms. They help her defend effectively at the net and take swings from the opposite pin. She’s improved in serve-receive, too.

ran a high powered Iowa City West offense that qualified for the Class 5A state tournament. At 5’10, she is the type of setter who can provide a bigger block at the net and can be offensive when her number is called. She’s not afraid to shoot the ball outside pushing the tempo.

Sometimes overshadowed by her talented teammates, Eastvold deserves a lot of credit for Iowa City West’s rise in 2025. The junior setter brings the consistency and leadership to the position necessary for success. Eastvold has shown that when I’ve scouted her on the club circuit or when operating in school ball. She puts the ball where her attackers can maximize their skills and mixes up her sets to keep defenses honest. If she sees a hole on the other side of the net, it will be exploited. Eastvold has come up with 84 digs and 12.0 blocks during the Trojans’ first 18 matches, illustrating her contributions as an effective all-around defender.

I scouted Eastvold several times during club season and was impressed with her feel for the position. She’s a well-rounded setter capable of contributing a lot to her team’s success. Eastvold mixes up her offerings to keep defenses honest and puts the ball where her attackers can generate solid swings. She rolled up 52 assists in the City match, tied for the team lead with 2.0 blocks and ranked second with 17 digs.
