Summer Slam Day One Top Performers in Pool G

Millar is tough when the Henry Clay setters put balls at her high attack point. Millar takes sound line swings and her back row passing has greatly improved. Millar does a great job tooling blocks and improvises to put balls over on bad sets. She mixes in tips to keep opponents guessing. Millar is also very coachable. Millar said it's about trusting yourself and your teammates. She makes plays at all six spots on the court. She does the back set and is a great communicator on the court. Lawson tools blocks and tips over them to keep opponents guessing. Lawson forms nice double blocks with teammates and sends over tough serves. Lawson even sends free balls over with a purpose. Lawson has also nicely stepped into a leadership role. She goes up with a purpose and times up hitters nicely. Whiteside puts across hard crosses and deposits ones to different areas of the court. Whiteside sends balls down lines with a nice downward trajectory. McDaniel gets on top of balls and sends balls screaming down the lines. McDaniel does not dwell on mistakes, instead bettering next balls that come her way. McDaniel made a number of nice first contacts in both games. Grogan landed a number of kills on go routes. She did a good job tooling blocks for big points. Grogan is a hustler on the court, making the simple passes.
