Which Kansas Club Standouts Could Make Big Prep Gains? (Pt. 1)

Teams compete with top talent from across the country, allowing us to work out which players have skills that translate beyond the friendly confines of home. But, of course, many club standouts carry their momentum directly into exceptional high school output, too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is also an ideal way to frame my first-ever season taking a deeper dive into the Kansas prep scene. Although this will be my most in-depth look at the Kansas high school hierarchy, I've been fortunate enough to cross paths with so many incredible club teams from the Heart of America Region. That's just how club volleyball converges, even if I spend a lot of time honing in on my Nebraska stomping grounds.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So, today's feature highlights some spring stars due for even more progress on the high school side. Bott enters her final season at Linn High after announcing her pledge to Johnson County CC, a perennial title contender on the JUCO scene. It's easy to see why the Cavaliers were drawn to this seasoned distributor after Bott led her Manhattan Mayhem 17P squad to GJNC's final 17 USA bracket. Now, she's eager to build off last year's runner-up effort with Linn. Ballard is a key figure in that group after boasting the second-best kill average on Bishop Miege's ledger last year. This high-flying pin hitter's stock has exploded since the start of 2026, as Ballard led her [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 16 Blue squad to multiple triumphs on the qualifier circuit. The result was a Gold bracket appearance at USAV Nationals, laying a foundation for Ballard's further climb as an upperclassman. Black's year-round influence has loomed large at Mizuno [program_tooltip program_id='515493' first='Club' last='North'] and last year's Class 3A runner-up. She hammered down nearly 450 kills last fall, using her quick right arm to overwhelm well-positioned backcourt defenders. It's the kind of physicality that allowed Black to play up a year with Mizuno [program_tooltip program_id='515493' first='Club' last='North'] 17Jessen, one of the club's best all-around lineups. This group turned heads by soaring to championship contention at AAU Nationals, and Kaberline's whippy arm consistently paved the way forward. She's a quick, twitchy right-side hitter who can be unstoppable in first-ball situations. Kaberline almost operated as a middle-right hybrid with the tempos she could take behind the setter. This gritty defender helped anchor a wildly successful [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] 15-1 group that earned a top-five 15 Open placement at USAV Nationals. It's a long-winded way of saying that Galmarini has seen it all. She immediately ran the show as a freshman with De Soto, producing four digs per set in Year 1 with the Wildcats. She made a huge jump in our latest 2029 rankings update after calling the shots for PVA 15 Elite's productive defense. Stilley's influence spanned beyond first contacts, as she had a knack for keeping hitters in a groove during scramble situations. More summer experience at USAV Nationals added to that growth, and we can't wait to see how Stilley's career progresses with last year's Class 6A champs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
