Expert Analysis
Vernon Birmingham | Prep Dig Scout
Ballard has shown much growth this season, and it’s been seen in her ability to play six rotations. She brings a more dynamic and assertive presence to the court, showing the ability to make impact plays. First contact is solid, with enough control to maintain offensive flow, but it’s the offensive upside that stands out most. This season, Ballard has showcased a fluid, confident arm swing, generating clean contact and scoring in rhythm. Movement looks more explosive here, allowing her to play faster and more aggressively in transition. Her ability to score on both pins has been noticed. With continued refinement and consistency, this is a player who shows clear potential to develop into a higher-impact offensive contributor.

Here’s another familiar name from my recent Kansas City travels. Ballard was an instant star at our most recent Kansas City showcase, where her effortless athleticism garnered our constant attention. She helped engineer Dynasty 16 Blue’s 16 USA triumph at the Sunshine Classic, allowing the team to join the 16 Open fray at recent qualifiers. Ballard has responded to this jump by elevating her game on the left side and becoming a six-rotation game-changer. Her upward trajectory has only accelerated since that showcase visit.

My Prep Dig Showcase travels have allowed me to discover extraordinary athletes like Ballard. She was identified as a top performer at our latest Kansas City showcase stop, and her influence hasn’t waned in the Dynasty gym this spring. Ballard brings multi-pin termination to the front row and has elevated her first contacts in a six-rotation role. 16 Blue’s latest highlight was a podium finish at the Sunshine Classic, locking up the team’s 16 USA berth to GJNC. I received highlights from Ballard of recent club action via email. She is an athlete who has been featured quite a bit lately during this week’s 2028 rankings update. She sent highlights from Power League Qualifying action in Lawrence. She was in a groove for Dynasty . She is explosive and has a smooth approach. The video she sent me was on Instagram, and I was able to see it without an account. That surprised me. I was impressed that her video had a title page with contact information included. I know from talking to college coaches that the easier they can find contact information, the easier it is to recruit you! Ballard is ranked No. 16 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

Ballard caught attention with her versatility and savvy offensive approach. While primarily playing on the right side, she was also effective when rotated to the left pin. She showed a knack for using the block to her advantage, often tooling hands and creating tough angles for defenders. At 5’11”, she already brings good size and feel for the game.
