The state is opening new venues at a pace we've never seen before, and last weekend's Titan Volleyball Classic was another testament to this trend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The new Premier Nebraska x LOVB facility hosted eight top-tier teams from the Cornhusker State and beyond, giving us a fresh look at some elite talent. Of course, that kind of venue comes with players who stood out from the first whistle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This feature is for them. All positions, age groups, and teams are welcome. Kubik, committed to play with perennial NCAA semifinalist Pittsburgh at the next level, ensured Blue Valley West's northward trek would be worthwhile. Kansas' defending Class 6A champs stormed through the Titan Volleyball Classic behind Kubik's rocket arm and all-around skills. She towers over opposing blocks while also bringing the finesse needed to keep backcourt defenders off balance. Aside from that D1-ready swing, Kubik has also upped her passing skills to remain an influential part of BVW's ball control. It's only fitting that her senior season has brought the best out of this high-flying athlete. Moone now sits atop the Titan ledger with nearly four kills per set and brings explosiveness that can't be depicted on a box score. Her snappy step-close is the perfect outlet for out-of-system situations, which helps explain Moone's increasing role in the Papio South offense. Ladwig has been a mainstay on our event circuit and reminded us of her incredible ceiling in the front row. Not many high school offenses run through their opposite, but Waukee Northwest can make an exception when Ladwig is patrolling the net. She consistently swings at the peak of her jump and creates matchup nightmares as a blocker. We've been treated to this lefty's strong termination on the right antenna, and she brought more of that scoring prowess at Saturday's tournament. But Gretna's climb to a runner-up finish would not have been possible without Janssen's quick hands at the setter spot. She runs a crisp offense out of the back row, often freezing middle blockers with her sets against the grain. She has flourished into Waverly's most efficient attacker as she inches near 0.400 through early-season matches. This effectiveness comes from Landon's willingness to stretch a defense behind the setter and elevate off of one foot. Despite her youth, nobody is surprised to see this LSE libero thriving after putting up monster numbers as a freshman. The Knights went toe-to-toe with Papio South in the quarterfinals behind Tallman's decisive, confident steps in the middle of the defense. She pairs this with incredible poise in serve-receive that you'd seldom expect from an underclassman.
