We’re going from one pin to another. Janssen plays up from the Class of 2028 and wields a wicked lefty swing on the right side. The Gretna southpaw has represented different club teams throughout her career with Premier Nebraska, and her expanding role with 17 Gold has brought Janssen’s best moments yet. Janssen’s club journey has been fascinating to follow. Last season, she played a pivotal role in lifting Premier Nebraska 15 Black to an early GJNC bid through the Northern Lights Qualifier. She changed venues for 2025 and has upgraded the front-row firepower for 16 Gold. Even with these new developments, Janssen has enjoyed the same outcome in 2025: a GJNC bid and a shot to demonstrate her skills at Nationals. This Gretna lefty is a high-flying opposite who is built for prominent stages, so Janssen will fit right in when 16 Gold travels to Dallas.

Here’s Gretna’s other freshman force at the pin positions. Janssen followed closely behind Dostal in 2024’s kill count to form one of the state’s most prolific freshman combos. She was not afraid to challenge Omaha Skutt Catholic’s physical block in Wednesday’s quarterfinal and was equally proficient at generating positive touches.

It’s a freshman renaissance at Gretna. Janssen is another name that has been in the spotlight for a while. She played up a year during the club season and helped Premier Nebraska 15 Black clinch a spot at GJNC.
